Thoughts and Prayers Sympathy Card

I have not had much of a chance to stamp In My Craft Room lately, but I just had to put all other things aside and create this card.  I pulled out a left over card kit from a previous class, used the colours and switched a few of them.  Then I pulled out Thoughts and Prayers, a set I love but it has been unloved lately!
I used some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz on the Crumb Cake cardfront, then some Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz on the Baja Breeze piece at the bottom.  Lots of bling, LOL!  Here is an up close shot of the bling ....

For the Whisper White punched border strip I used the XL Snowflake punch.  Can you believe it????  Here's a bit of a tutorial for you.  Click on the pictures to make them bigger and easier to see.
I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5-1/2 x 1-3/8, then I lined up the bottom edge in the first level of two of the spikes of the snowflake punch like this ....
Then you slide the cardstock over and line it up just past the part you punched previously, like this (notice you can just see the punched part in the very left hand side of the snowflake punch) ...
You continue punching like this until you have punched all along your cardstock.  You will end up with an edge like this ....
And here is a picture of it with the Baja Breeze piece mounted on it .....

Now isn't this something different?
Stamps:  Thoughts and Prayers, Fundamental Phrases
Ink:  Always Artichoke
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose
Other:  Snowflake Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Basic Pearls, Texture Plate from Kit #4
Bye for now and Happy Stampin' ~   ~    ~    ~    ~    ~

Angelic Joy and Deck The Halls Designer Series Paper

I was asked to re-create the Angelic Joy card from page 23 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalogue for an upcoming class.  I did not want to case it directly, but wanted to jazz it up just a bit.  Here is what I came up with  ... ... ...
I did the ribbon a bit different, the bow is sideways and I added a wonderful Stampin' Up! Vintage Brad to it. Then I spritzed the 2x4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  The Angel I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Basic Black ink, then hit it with the heat gun to set the ink.  Then I took my Aqua Pen and Always Artichoke and Soft Suede Classic Ink Pads and did a bit of colouring.  Her robe is Always Artichoke and her hair is Soft Suede.  This colouring worked really well on the Very Vanilla cardstock as I did not use a lot of water.  I think it makes a soft and elegant statement!  The background paper is two of the Deck The Halls designs, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this awesome paper.  The cardbase is Cherry Cobbler but you can't see it.
Here is an upclose picture of the stamped and coloured image and you can see some of the Gold Glow shimmer behind her ... ... ...
Thanks for visiting, and Happy Stampin'!!!

French Foliage Happy Anniversary Card

Yesterday was our 34th Wedding Anniversary.  We spent our honeymoon on MacKenzie Beach, Tofino, on Vancouver Island in B.C. and once again here we are!  I love the fact that every year on our anniversary hubby's job brings him back to this awesome place.  It has changed a bit, but mostly the beach is the same.
Here is the card I made for him using French Foliage.  This is the first chance I have had to use this set ... ...
The light spots on the Night Of Navy card base are from some Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz I liberally applied.  I love how sparkley it turned out.  I used the Stampin 411 Sketch Challenge #169.  I did not bring any sentiment stamps with me, so I had to had write the Happy Anniversary, I am just glad I spelled it correctly, lol.
Stamp:  French Foliage
Ink:  Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Night of Navy
Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla
Punches:  Wide Oval, Large Heart
Other:  Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz
For the leaf image on the large heart punch I punched out 2 wide ovals in bashful blue and one in night of navy.  Then I arranged the bashful blue ones behind the night of navy one in a heart pattern to outline the large heart punched in very vanilla.  The background is the words image from the stamp set stamped in night of navy then the small leaft from the set stamped over top of that in basic black.  Then lots of Shimmer Spritz.
Thanks for visiting, see you next time ... ... ...  Glenda Mollet

Scrapbooking - Barkerville, BC 2008

I got another one of my scrapbook pages done today for my Scrapbooking 101 class I purchased from Andrea Walford.  This is a vintage one, and boy do I like the way it turned out.

This is our son and future daughter-in-law on a trip to Barkerville, up by Quesnel, BC in the gold rush area of our province. They are a hoot! The page uses Log Cabin Smooch Spritz (item #119921 page 195 = $6.25) to antique the cardstock, then I used some of the brand new Victoria Crochet Trim (item # 118481 page 190 = $9.50) to trim around the picture.  I also added a few of the new Basic Pearls (item #119247 page 188 = $6.50) to the Baroque Motif (stamp set #113490 page 132 = $33.95) images.  The flowers I made with the largest flower from Boho Blossoms Punch (item # 119858 page 200 = $23.95) and some free packaging that comes with my Stampin' Up! orders.  I spritzed them with some Champagne Mist shimmer spritz (made by mixing 70% rubbing alcohol and the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Item #116806 page 195 = $7.95), then after they were assembled I spritzed them lighly with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz (item #119921 page 195 = $6.25) to antique them a bit too.  This page uses some of my vary favourite Stampin' Up! products and they go very well together.  The leaves are made with Old Olive cardstock and the Little Leaves Sizzlets Die (item #114511 page 210 = $7.50).
Here is a close up picture of the flower treatment on the bottom right hand corner, you can see some of the pearls too......

Bye for now, I am off to create a double page layout with fun summer theme and colours............

Presto Patterns DSP Thinking of You card

I had to make 3 sympathy cards while we are away, not an easy feat considering my limited supplies!  I did manage to find a "Thinking Of You" stamp and paired it with Friends Never Fade and Because I Care stamp sets.  Here's what the card looks like............
At my Open House for the new catalogue on June 30, we had a discussion about Presto Patterns DSP.  Concensus was that it had a few pages in the package that were for Scrapbooking, not for making cards.  So I decided to use one of those sheets when making this card (I made 3 similar).  I spritzed the DSP with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, smooshed it with Technical Paper (toilet paper LOL) then layered it on Early Espresso with Whisper White cardstock. I really like the design on this sheet, I think it would also make a great masculine card...... hmmmmm!  Then I used Whisper White Organza ribbon and tied it around the DSP and cardstock layer, and a ribbon treatment I saw a while ago somewhere. I used a Filigree Brad then put a Clear Rhinestone Brad in the centre.  The image layer is Early Espresso and Whisper White.  The Friends Never Fade flower is coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke markers.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso, and the line of flowers inbetween them is from Because I Care, and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.
I think this card hits the mark for a sympathy card (I really do hate that expression and never, ever use it on cards anyways!) and it is quick and simple to make.  A minimum of embellishments, but what I have used stands out.
Thanks for looking, it was 29 deg celcius in Alert Bay today, thank goodness for Air Conditioning in our trailer!  Bye for now, and thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Lilly Explosion Box

Another day of "Gardening".  I love these flowers, I can't kill them.  Its' amazing how not watering your flowers / garden causes them to die ~ ~ ~ who knew!!!
I used THIS tutorial by Valita in Aussie, for the lillies, they originated from Sharri and they are so fun to make.  I made 2 of the white ones, then made a pinkish one for this box.  Here is a picture of my completed box with a couple of my white lillies...........

and the inside

Here is a close up of the inside flowers - one lilly and two roses behind it, the "leaves" are a MS punch.

And here is a close up of the flower detail on the top of the box ~ ~ ~

Supplies I used:
Paper:  Retired Stampin' Up! DSP (sorry can't remember the name)
Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Old Olive
Ink:  Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose for sponging
Ribbon:  Regal Rose 5/8" GG, Whisper White Taffeta
Other:  Beads from Pretties Kit, Little Leaves die, MS Punch, NEW XL 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch
For the flower on the box top I punched 3 XL Sc Circles from Pretty In Pink and 3 from Regal Rose.  Then I ran them through the crimper to break down the fibers and to separate the layers.  I separated each one into two pieces.  Then I spritzed them with Champagne Mist Shimmer Pain Spritz and crumpled them, put them together with a pink brad and formed into a flower.  Then I spritzed again with some Gold and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritzes.  Oh my the ***BLING***.  I sponged all the DSP with Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose around all the edges.  The bow detail is just 2 layers of Regal Rose GG then a layer of Whisper White Taffeta, and a round of Regal Rose again.  The inside is all ready to put either pictures or some stamped and / or coloured images.  I have not decided yet.  But I love this little box, and they are so darned easy to make.
Here' another picture of the box all closed up....

Presto Patterns DSP card share

I made this super easy, super quick card.  I know it is a CASE but for the life of me I can't remember from whom.  I always give credit to originating authors, but this time I can't.  But if it is you, please email me (link at the top of my LH sidebar) and I will give you credit.  The card is awesome by the way, thanks to whomever created it.............

To make this card all you do is cut out a piece of Presto Patterns DSP, spritz some Log Cabin Smooch Spritz on the paper, smoosh it around with Technical Paper (toilet paper) or a sponge, and Voila your card front is complete.  Could it be any easier than that?????  Then I wrapped some Whisper White Satin Ribbon around it, gathered that with a Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad.  Then took some cardstock weight Vellum and ran it through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.  I sponged around the edges of the butterflies with some Rich Razzleberry ink, then added some non SU rhinestones to them.  The card front is layered on a white card by first Always Artichoke then Rich Razzleberry and finally Whisper White again, then the altered DSP.  I sure wish there were a few more sheets of this pattern in the package so I could do a class using it to show my Stampers how quick and easy this DSP is to use.  Maybe I will anyways, who knows.
Thanks for looking, and I hope I get an email so I can give proper credit to the originator.

Wrapped Tilda card - Magnolia-licious DT Challenge

Update:  Reposting this for the May Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop, I hope you enjoy all the hops.  If you arrived from Deb's fabulous blog, you are on the right track, if not go back to the beginning HERE and visit all of the stops on the hop. Here is my submission.....

I got to colour another Magnolia image a few days ago, so I decided to follow May's Magnolia-lious DT Challenge, AND make it completely white except for the image.  My friend Candy gave me the most awesome birthday card (here is a link to her posting of that card) and it was all white, except for the image.  It was so striking, that I just had to do the same.  It was really fun, and no fussing to find out matching cardstock, copic colours, designer papers and embellishments!  Everything was white!  Here's my card:
I used my Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder by Stampin' Up! on some Whisper White cardstock.  Then I cut out around it and used it for the corners.  This paper was then spritzed with the new Smooch Spritzes available now.  I used Vanilla Shimmer.  OMG it is gorgeous IRL!  I love this Magnolia Tilda image, she is so cute.  This card uses all Stampin' Up! products except for the image, the copics I used to colour her, and the Stickles - Star Dust.  Here is what I used:
Cardstock:  Whisper White
Punches:  5 Petal, Boho Blossom
Other:  Elegant Bouquet and Square Lattice embossing folders, half pears from Pretties Kit, Smooch Spritz - Vanilla Shimmer, Whisper White Satin Ribbon
The flower in the bottom LH corner is 2 5 petal punches and 2 boho blossom punches, then they are smooched and crumpled and shaped, then smooched again.  It has a half pearl inside it.  The flowers on the other two corners are just cut outs leftover from when I cut out the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, they are also smooched.
Here is a picture of the shimmer from the Smooching..... Oh My isn't it gorgeous????
And here is a picture of Tilda and the letter up close:

I used a lot of sparkle on this card between the Smooching and the Stickling....
Here is a list of the Copic Markers I used:
Skin:  E0000, E000, E00, E11
Cheeks:  R30, R20, R21
Hair:  W3, W5, W9
Dress:  G0000, G09, G14, G24, G21
Dress Trim:  W00
Socks:  G0000, G21, Blender Pen
Bow:  R0000, R24, R27, R29
Berries:  R0000, R27, R29
Holly:  G0000, G21, YG63, YG67
Letter:  W00, W1
Shadow:  W1

Masculine Card

I cased this one from one of the Stampin' Up! publications, but can't remember which one.  I have 2 masculine cards to post, this one today, and another one tomorrow.  Here's a picture of my card......
I used the soon to be returning Baja Breeze as the base for this card.  Then I spritzed some Silver Smooch Spritz on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that had been run through my Big Shot using the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I love the metal look of it.  The words are cut out of Baja Breeze cardstock using the Timeless Type Jr. Alphabet dies.  This could be birthday or Father's Day, either one would work.
Thanks for looking and come back tomorrow for my second masculine card.

Vintage Double Slider Card

I have been so into Vintage / Shabby Chic lately I can't believe it.  I love the new Presto Patterns DSP by Stampin' Up!  And those new Smooch Spritzes, Oh My Goodness!!!!
Yesterday I took a card project to my Wednesday morning Ladies Group  THIS was the card we did.  We spent a long time stamping and embossing the Bella Toile background before we could get into the colouring part.  Then I came home to design a slider card for this month's Technique Class and decided to carry on with the Vintage theme, but use the new Presto Patterns Specialty DSP and the Smooch Spritzes available starting Saturday, May 1st in the new Summer Mini Catalogue.  Sorry I can't show you pix of the paper or the spritzes as they are not released to the public yet.  But I can show you the results, and they are fabulous.  Here is the card I created.......
I used Creamy Caramel cardstock for the base.  I am trying to use some of the colours that are disappearing as a fond farewell to them.  The contrasting colour is Bravo Burgundy.  The mesh type paper and the bella toile type paper are two of the six designs from the new Presto Patterns Sp. DSP.  Aren't they great.  For the mesh one, I just spritzed some Log Cabin Smooch Spritz on it, then wiped it around using TP (which I have heard lately called Technical Paper - really its toilet paper).  The sparkle on it is unbelieveable.  The flower piece I first sponged on Bravo Burgundy ink in varying degrees of coverage, then spritzed it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz another one of the new ones.  Again, the shimmer is spectacular.  These spritzes are much more intense than making spritzes with the Shimmer Paints. They both work, but have different uses and results.  I love them all.  Here is a close up view of the front, I tried to get the shimmer in the picture but don't think I did it justice, oh my its gorgeous.....

As I said this is a slider card, so here is the card partially open:

For the handle to pull out the slider part (you can just see the bottom of the round tab punch on the far right hand side) I used a piece of the mesh type paper from the front.  I used Asian Artistry stamp set for the stamps, and the flowers on the front are stamped again, fussy cutt out, and popped up on Dimensionals for a 3D effect.
Here are the side panels........

These cards are super fun to make, but not easy.  They can be confusing if you don't get things put together just right, it won't slide.  HERE is a tutorial by Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Studio.
Thanks for visiting, have a great day!!!  Glenda Mollet
