Strength and Hope Birthday Card

Today I created another card with the stamp set "Strength and Hope".  I absolutely love the versatilty of this set of 4 stamps!

I created the background piece by stamping first the words in Peach Parfait, then I randomly stamped the butterfly in VersaMark and used White Embossing Powder on it.  Then I used So Saffron ink and daubed it over top of the butterflies so they popped out.  Lots of white on this card.  After I made it I really did not like it a lot, but now that it has dried and the inks have mellowed a bit, it is growing on me.
Stamps:  Strength and Hope, Build A Cupcake
Ink:  VersaMark, Peach Parfait, So Saffron, Cajun Craze
Markers:  Tangerine Tango
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Peach Parfait
Other:  Lots of Tags - Label 3, Basic Pearls, Vintage brad, Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched Poly ribbon

Simple Friendship meets Elegant Soiree DSP - Unscripted Sketches #91

Hi All!  I am back again after dealing with family issues and I have a new card to share with you.  I used the Unscripted Sketches #91 for the layout for this card.  When I started I had the Elegant Soiree designer series paper from Stampin' Up! pulled from my shelf as I have not used this paper in so long.  I love the comfort food feeling of the colours and designs in this paper.  Here's my card ... .... ..... ......

Stamps:  Simple Friendship,  Messages For Mom (sentiment)
Ink:  Crumb Cak, Early Espresso
Paper:  Elegant Soiree DSP
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
Other:  Early Espresso 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Antique Brad, Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Windows die, Modern Label Punch, Basic Rhinestones, dimensionals
Today my DH and I went for our usual afternoon walk and heard FROGS!!!  Spring is in the air.  As my family knows I DO NOT LIKE FROGS!  They are my fobia and make my skin crawl just listening to them.  But its nice to know spring is coming under all that fog we have been getting lately.

EDIT: A HUGE thank you to Unscripted Sketches for selecting me as one of their Top 3 for US#91.  Check out THIS blog post (scroll down to the bottom for #91 results)!

Just Believe - CASEd Card

Hi I'm back again with another card I CASEd.  This time its from Tiffany Bauer.  Visit her blog for some great cards!

Tiffany made her card red, and I decided I needed to create this one in blues.  I used the Patterns Designer Series Paper - Marina Mist and Night of Navy cardstock.  I dug out my Colour Spritzer Tool (item 107066 - page 195 of the main Stampin' Up! catalogue) and spritzed the background of the white pice in Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist using my Stampin' Write Markers.  This tool is awesome, and I hardly ever think to use it.  Thanks, Tiffany, for the nudge!  This card measures 9" x 4" and fits into a legal size envelope.  One of the Antique Brads finishes off the Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon.
No more turkey for me, I am completely finished with turkey for another year.  Now for some basic chicken!  I know, weird, huh?  Thanks for visiting, Happy Stampin'   Glenda Mollet

Notably Ornate Birthday Card

Today it is raining cougars and wolves here (you know cats and dogs only bigger LOL), so its a great day to create In My Craft Room!!!!
Each month I showcase one stamp set for my Stamp-A-Stacks, and create 3 cards using all the stamps in the set.  Last month it was "Elements Of Style", this month it is "Just Believe" and my next one will be "Notably Ornate".  I am uncertain what month it will be right now, as November I have a different kind of class up my sleeve for Christmas Cards.
Anyhoo ... ... ... here is the card I created today.  I loosely used the Mojo Monday Sketch #160 ... ... ...

Here is what the sketch is ... ... ...

And here is an up close picture of the bling ... ... ...

For the scalloped edge on the Early Espresso piece I used the new Stampin' Up! Bat Punch!  Yup, can you believe it?????   I cut a piece of cardstock 1-1/2 x 4-1/4.  Then pushed the cardstock all the way into the punch and punched a row of bats out. I will do a quick post on how to do this right after posting this one.
I stamped the bird in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, hand cut it out, then spritzed it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, let that dry, then spritzed it with Platinum Shimmer Spritz as well.  Talk about blingy!!  I used 3 Neutrals Glimmer Brads, and 2 In Colour Glimmer Brads to bling it up even more.  For the sentiment I used the frame stamp from Notably Ornate, inked it with my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, then stamped Birthday Wishes from Ocassional Quotes inside the frame also using Early Espresso ink.
The main image is stamped on Very Vanilla in Early Espresso Classic Ink, then I sponged Blushing Bride around the outside, and Regal Rose right on the very edges.  A Vintage Brad gathers the Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.  I used my Teahouse Background stamp on the Regal Rose layer in Regal Rose Classic Ink.
Ahh, it felt so good to get back into card making again.  I have been so busy prepping for classes the past little while.
Off now to create another one out of this stamp set, check back tomorrow I hope to have it posted then.

Angelic Joy and Deck The Halls Designer Series Paper

I was asked to re-create the Angelic Joy card from page 23 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalogue for an upcoming class.  I did not want to case it directly, but wanted to jazz it up just a bit.  Here is what I came up with  ... ... ...
I did the ribbon a bit different, the bow is sideways and I added a wonderful Stampin' Up! Vintage Brad to it. Then I spritzed the 2x4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  The Angel I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Basic Black ink, then hit it with the heat gun to set the ink.  Then I took my Aqua Pen and Always Artichoke and Soft Suede Classic Ink Pads and did a bit of colouring.  Her robe is Always Artichoke and her hair is Soft Suede.  This colouring worked really well on the Very Vanilla cardstock as I did not use a lot of water.  I think it makes a soft and elegant statement!  The background paper is two of the Deck The Halls designs, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this awesome paper.  The cardbase is Cherry Cobbler but you can't see it.
Here is an upclose picture of the stamped and coloured image and you can see some of the Gold Glow shimmer behind her ... ... ...
Thanks for visiting, and Happy Stampin'!!!
