Just Believe Wild Wasabi Embossing

This week I have a class coming up and we will be making cards using the new coloured embossing powders, Wild Wassabi, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango. I was contacted by one of my stampin' ladies who asked me to have a class because they were having "withdrawals".  Haha, I know what that is like!  This is one of the cards we will be making ....

I used Just Believe and inked it in VersaMark then added the Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder.  The Very Vanilla cardstock has the new Starburst Jumbo Wheel in Pool Party then I embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The ribbon is Wild Wasabi 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon tied with a piece of White Baker's Twine.  The butterflies are made with Pool Party cardstock and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

Then I decided I wanted to mix the Wild Wasabi embossing powder with Irridescent Ice embossing powder.  HERE is a link to Dawn Griffith's tutorial on how to mix embossing powders.  Here is the card where I mixed the powders ....

I made it a bit different.  The Very Vanilla cardstock is embossed with Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and I used the de-bossed side.  Can't quite see the bling of the image so here is a closer picture ....

Magnolia Card - Tilda and Her Bunny

Welcome!  I hope you are all ready for Easter (or a long weekend if you don't observe Easter).  I decided to colour the Magnolia image "Tilda and Her Bunny" for Easter cards for our children this year.  I used StazOn black ink to stamp the image onto Stampin' Up! Watercolour Paper. Then I used Stampin' Write Markers and an Aqua Pen to colour the image.  This one is so darned cute!!!

I had just finished doing a Brayering Class and had this card sitting out on my craft table.  I thought it would make a great background for the image.  I coloured this image almost 2 weeks ago now, and have only just had the time to put them (have to make 2 cards) onto cards.  HERE is where I originally posted details and pictures of this card. Since this picture, I put some Liquid Applique on the bunny tale and heated it so it puffed up.  Oh my the tail is so cute!!!

Just Believe Birthday Candles - CASEd Card

Today a card for you from page 97 of the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11, with a few changes.

Once again  I used the Colour Spritzer Tool on this card.  I keep forgetting this awesome tool, which is dirt cheap and packs a real whallop on a card when used.  HERE is a youtube video by Dawn on how to use this tool.  I have to remember to use this tool more often.

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Old Olive Marker for spritzing

Just Believe - CASEd Card Again

This one comes out of the Stampin' Up! Main Catalogue 2010-11 on page 71.  I am not happy with how it turned out, but I did use the Oval Fram die which I have had forever and not used yet.  I think next time I will brayer the background, not sponge it.  In the catalogue they used a different stamp for this card as well as a different colour scheme.  Here's my version of it .......

I used Curly Cute for the sentiment.  My colours are Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla.  Maybe a different colour scheme would have been better too.  Who knows?
Oh well, sometimes the cards hit the mark, and other times they don't.  This is a "don't" one!

Just Believe - CASEd Card

Hi I'm back again with another card I CASEd.  This time its from Tiffany Bauer.  Visit her blog for some great cards!

Tiffany made her card red, and I decided I needed to create this one in blues.  I used the Patterns Designer Series Paper - Marina Mist and Night of Navy cardstock.  I dug out my Colour Spritzer Tool (item 107066 - page 195 of the main Stampin' Up! catalogue) and spritzed the background of the white pice in Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist using my Stampin' Write Markers.  This tool is awesome, and I hardly ever think to use it.  Thanks, Tiffany, for the nudge!  This card measures 9" x 4" and fits into a legal size envelope.  One of the Antique Brads finishes off the Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon.
No more turkey for me, I am completely finished with turkey for another year.  Now for some basic chicken!  I know, weird, huh?  Thanks for visiting, Happy Stampin'   Glenda Mollet

Just Believe Brayered Card - CASEd Card Share

This is the last one of my CASEd cards for now.  This is CASEd from Gretchen Barron, another very talented lady.  I love brayering, which this card uses.  I love clean and simple, which this card is, and I LOVE rhinestones and bling of any kind, which I made this card have!

I used almost the same colours as Gretchen, but I changed the Pretty In Pink to Pink Pirouette to make it a bit softer.  I added Basic Rhinestones to the butterfly body and made antennas for him as well.  I also added a sentiment to the bottom, and omitted the ribbon.  My Just Believe floral images are stamped in Early Espresso instead of Chocolate Chip.  So I used the same colour scheme, just used a couple of different colours.  When making this card, make sure you ink your floral images really, really well so you get good coverage and solid stamped images (yup learned this by the hard way!).

Just Believe - Greenhouse Gala DSP - Bookmark Card

The last card (for now) in my "Just Believe" series for my October classes.  This is a Bookmark Card. I got the idea from a swap I was in when I went to Sequim, WA in May to a Sandi MacIver class. It was created by Sherry Hostetter of Texas, and I knew when I saw that card that I was going to "case the idea". 
Here is my version of the Bookmark Card.... ..... .....

I made this card so when you remove the Bookmark part, you still have a complete card.  Here is a picture when the Bookmark is removed ... ... ... ... ...

As you can see, under the Bookmark is a hidden stamped image, the punched out circle where the Bookmark slides in also contains a pleasant surprise.

I used Stampin' Up!'s new Basic Pearls, of course.  I can't seem to get away from those precious little gems!  If you would like to know how to create this cute "interactive" card you will have to come to my October Stamp-A-Stack class.   Hmmmm, maybe I will make the kits available.
I used the new 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch to create the ends on the Sentiment piece, kinda neat huh?

Just Believe - Elegant Soiree DSP

Another card for one of my October classes where I want to showcase the Stampin' Up! stamp set "Just Believe".  This set is so versatile, it has floral images, sentiments and frames.  How much better can a stamp set get??? 

Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper is my very favourite of the new Stampin' Up! 2010-11 Idea Book And Catalogue (page 175).  The colours in it are Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  Hmmm don't you just feel comforted just reading the names?  I paired the DSP and stamp set with the Mojo Monday 139 sketch (a while ago I know, but it sure worked for this card).  Again I used some Basic Pearls on the sentiment piece.  If you would like the instructions, and recipe, you will have to join us next month for my class that will feature this awesome stamp set, "Just Believe".

Just Believe - Concord Crush and Bashful Blue

I have a card for you today that I made for Mojo Monday 154 sketch.  I am showcasing the Stampin' Up! stamp set "Just Believe" in one of my card classes in October, so this is what I came up with for one of the cards.....

The colours are Bashful Blue, Concord Crush and Whisper White.  I also just had to add some Basic Rhinestones.  I am sooooo happy that Stampin' Up! added these, and the Basic Pearls, to the product line.  I use them all the time now, just can't get away from them.

For You Business Card Holder

Good afternoon!!!  Don't you just love this weather, but boy, oh boy, do we need some rain.  We are very lucky that there are no forest fires around where we live, but the rest of British Columbia, Canada is burning up in over 400 Forest Fires right now. 
I read in a business booster post somewhere (sorry can't remember who) that I should be going out shopping etc. with a bunch of small notes that hold my Stampin' Up! business cards to give out to people who are kind in some way, or when I talk to someone who is trying to buy a greeting card.  So I made up these.............

The cardbase is River Rock, then I added a layer of Concord Crush.  On top of that is Poppy Parade which I stamped once with an image from Just Believe in Poppy Parade for a tone on tone look.  The frame image from Just Believe is stamped in Concord Crush on Whisper White cardstock, then I cut that out. I stamped "for you" in River Rock in the centre of the blank space.  Once it was all stamped and cut out, I spritzed it with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz (oh la la is it glittery I used about 2 oz of 70% rubbing alcohol and 8 drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint).  I put one of Stampin' Up!s brand new Basic Rhinestones on the topmost flower for a bit more bling.

You can't see it, but inside I used my Vintage Jumbo Wheel and ran it across the bottom half of the card using River Rock ink.  Then I attached my business card with some Dotto Repositionable adhesive so the card can be removed if necessary.

I wanted to make an impression with this little bit of creativity, so I used Poppy Parade and Concord Crush which are very intense colours.  This little card shows how Stampin' Up! colours coordinate, two of the new In Colours and matching inks, as well as the new Basic Rhinestones and two of the neutral colours.
