Special Foldy Fold Card Share

Ok enough Valentine's for a while, on to a cool foldy fold card.  I created two different ones for you ....

I cased these great cards from Dawn Griffith.  Although they look very complicated they are super easy to do.
Stamps:  Sprinkled Expressions (R), Elementary Elegance, Outlined Expressions (R)
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz (R), Basic Black
Markers:  Pear Pizzazz (R) , Poppy Parade (R)
Paper:  Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz (R)
   Other:  Score It Tool
To make these cards:
 - cut one piece of pear pizzazz cardstock 4-1/4 x 4-1/4
 - cut two pieces of whisper white cardstock 8-1/8 x 4
 - score these pieces at 2" on one end, then fold the other end in to meet it
 - layer one on top of the other (in different directions)
 - adhere the layers to the pear pizzazz piece
 - cut one piece of pear pizzazz 3-3/4 x 3-3/4
 - cut one piece of whisper white 3-1/2 x 3-1/2
 - layer and adhere inside

Voila, not difficult at all, right???

Happy Stampin' ...

Black and White Elements Of Style

I cased this card from Kivonne Tucker (SU Demo in Seattle WA) from a swap card I received in Sequim in May.  I have had it sitting on my "to do" pile for a while and finally inked up my Elements Of Style stamp and made it.

I fell in love with this card for two reasons.  #1 - I love the black and white simplicity of this card.  It would do for Thank You, Birthday, Sympathy, Anniversary or Wedding!  And #2 is the way it opens.  The black card layer is just one 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece and it is the white that opens!  How cool is that.  There is a piece of paper weight Vellum over the stamped image in the middle and that is where the sentiment is stamped.  Thanks Kivonne, for the inspiration and wonderful card.
Stamps:  Elements of Style, With All My Heart
Ink:  Basic Black
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Paper Weight Vellum
Other:  Basic Black Satin Ribbon
Thanks for visiting today, I hope your weekend is / was a great one.  I am just waiting for my DH to return home from his travels.  As of today, he will be home now for 4 months.  Guess I have to wait a day or two until the "Honey Please Do" list comes out!!!  ~ ~ ~  Glenda Mollet

Tri Shutter Anniversary Card

I created this card a while ago, but could not post it until I had given it to our son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary, as she visits my blog!  I used THIS tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers to make this card.  It looks complicated, but is quite easy.
The purple piece is covering what I wrote in it, I forgot to take the picture before!  Here is a close up of the left hand blue piece:

I love the fact that Stampin' Up! is coming out with a new product (sorry can't reveal it till July 1st, but I used a non SU one on this page, can you tell what it is?????
I used lots of retired and retiring and returning stuff on this card. The card is Baja Breeze (returning as of July 1st), the designer paper is Urban Oasis (retired) and Walk In The Park (retired).  Also used was Whisper White an Basic Black cardstock,Wide Oval punch.  Stamp set was Yummy (retired) - (the black piece behind the sentiment - I stamped it with white on black and cut it out, then I just used the reverse side).  I used more of the non SU can't mention items on the flowers on the front of the card.  The saying is Whimsical Words (retired).
Thanks for visiting, I'll be  back the next few days sharing with you some cards I cased, and was inspired by to showcase the new colours available July 1st!

UPDATE: sorry forgot the link to Dawn Olchefske's tutorial for the Pansies.

Vintage Double Slider Card

I have been so into Vintage / Shabby Chic lately I can't believe it.  I love the new Presto Patterns DSP by Stampin' Up!  And those new Smooch Spritzes, Oh My Goodness!!!!
Yesterday I took a card project to my Wednesday morning Ladies Group  THIS was the card we did.  We spent a long time stamping and embossing the Bella Toile background before we could get into the colouring part.  Then I came home to design a slider card for this month's Technique Class and decided to carry on with the Vintage theme, but use the new Presto Patterns Specialty DSP and the Smooch Spritzes available starting Saturday, May 1st in the new Summer Mini Catalogue.  Sorry I can't show you pix of the paper or the spritzes as they are not released to the public yet.  But I can show you the results, and they are fabulous.  Here is the card I created.......
I used Creamy Caramel cardstock for the base.  I am trying to use some of the colours that are disappearing as a fond farewell to them.  The contrasting colour is Bravo Burgundy.  The mesh type paper and the bella toile type paper are two of the six designs from the new Presto Patterns Sp. DSP.  Aren't they great.  For the mesh one, I just spritzed some Log Cabin Smooch Spritz on it, then wiped it around using TP (which I have heard lately called Technical Paper - really its toilet paper).  The sparkle on it is unbelieveable.  The flower piece I first sponged on Bravo Burgundy ink in varying degrees of coverage, then spritzed it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz another one of the new ones.  Again, the shimmer is spectacular.  These spritzes are much more intense than making spritzes with the Shimmer Paints. They both work, but have different uses and results.  I love them all.  Here is a close up view of the front, I tried to get the shimmer in the picture but don't think I did it justice, oh my its gorgeous.....

As I said this is a slider card, so here is the card partially open:

For the handle to pull out the slider part (you can just see the bottom of the round tab punch on the far right hand side) I used a piece of the mesh type paper from the front.  I used Asian Artistry stamp set for the stamps, and the flowers on the front are stamped again, fussy cutt out, and popped up on Dimensionals for a 3D effect.
Here are the side panels........

These cards are super fun to make, but not easy.  They can be confusing if you don't get things put together just right, it won't slide.  HERE is a tutorial by Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Studio.
Thanks for visiting, have a great day!!!  Glenda Mollet

Happy Easter Bunny Slider Card

Last month we had our semi-annual demonstrator meeting for Vancouver Island, BC. We have swaps, make-n-takes, business discussions, etc. I came home with a whole bag full of ideas and samples from our wonderful Make-N-Takes our fabulous local demonstrators did. This one, by Susan E, is a slider card. She said she got the idea from Dawn's blog. HERE is the link to Dawn's post for the tutorial on how to make one of these cards. Susan's card used the set "A Good Egg" and was fabulous. I took Dawn's tutorial, Susan's idea and colour scheme, and did some adapting of my own. This month, as you know, our Punchie Class will include a darling Bunny punchie. So I wanted to use it on a card to show ideas on how to use it. And, I will be giving it to someone very, very special (who is too little to read Gramma's Blog, heehee)!
Here's my card closed:~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And here it is partially open:

and an up close look at the inside top piece:

I paper pieced the shell of the chick using some very old and retired SU DSP that I don't have the name for any more. The front uses Tea Party DSP. Our precious grandson, James, will be 2 in a couple of weeks, and boy is he a 2 year old! I had forgotten how much of a personality they get around 2, but he is definitely becoming a very funny, teasing, special little boy. And he does crack me up all the time. Last night he did not want to eat what was for dinner, so he got one of his "Huh, see if I eat that!" looks on his face, closed his eyes, put his little nose in the air, and turned his head away from us. He was so funny, how can you not laugh at something like that!!!
Anyways, thanks to Dawn and Susan for the inspiration for this awesome card. Here's what I used to create it:
Stamps: A Good Egg, Cute and Cuddly, Fast Flowers Wheel (retired 2008)
Ink: Basic Black, Lavender Lace
Paper: Tea Party DSP, retired unknown SU DSP
Cardstock: Barely Banana, Whisper White, Lavender Lace
Other: Bunny Punchie, Nestabilities, Modern Label and Word Window Punches, plastic grocery bag
Give one of these cards a try, they are super fun to make. Just have to make sure of two things:
1. do not adhere your inside cardstock to your card base, just to the plastic slider piece
2. put the join of the plastic piece at the bottom of where the top slider cardstock piece attaches
If you do these 2 things, your slider card should work, the first time. Unlike my first attempt!!!
Happy Stampin'................. Glenda Mollet

Extreme Snowboarder

As promised, here is the birthday card I created for our niece. She loves to snowboard and ski. Recently I asked her and she said she prefers snowboarding. When Stampin' Up! came out with these awesome stamps, I knew this one was destined for Lisiane and her next birthday card. The "splat" from the Extreme Elements set is so versatile. I just love using it for backgrounds behind strong images and have used it quite a bit, although this is the first Extreme Sport type of card I've made. I think my next project will be to use this image using the Chalkboard Technique.............. hmmmmm. Anyways, here is the card:

I made it a Joy Fold card, here it is partially open:

I wanted the splat to be Bordering Blue and I wanted to use Perfect Plum. River Rock just seemed to be the perfect base colour to use with this combination. I did not want any designer paper, as my colour combination was so strange I knew I would not find a suitable paper. So I used the other stamps in the Extreme Elements set to create patterns on the paper. On the left hand flap, I stamped the dots in VersaMark, then the stars in River Rock. There is not enough contrast in the two inks to make the stars stand out more than the dots, as I wanted. But it looks ok anyways. I stamped two of the sentiments in Basic Black ontop of the stamped images. Inside I stamped a piece of the Perfect Plum paper with the stars using Perfect Plum ink for the base of the inside and daubed some Perfect Plum ink around the outside. Then the sentiment flap is just Whisper White on top of Perfect Plum. I really like making this kind of card and thought it would be a bit different. I left the end of the inside sentiment flap with no adhesive on it so we can slip the "gift" under the flap and use it as a gift card / money holder.
Here is a list of the ingredients:
Stamps: Extreme Snowborder, Extreme Elements, Family Phrases
Ink: Basic Black, Bordering Blue, River Rock, VersaMark, Perfect Plum
Markers: Basic Black, Perfect Plum (for the sentiment inside)
Cardstock: River Rock, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Other: Pinking Hearts Border Punch
Thanks again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my blog.

Garden From The Heart Wiper Card

Another weekend creation. This is my first attempt at a wiper card (tutorial HERE at SCS). The finished size of this card is quite large, I was lucky to have an envelope to fit it. The other day a friend, Peggy, dropped by with some spare envelopes and there was one the perfect size in that box. Thanks Peggy!!!
I followed the tutorial and used that size then I added my own papers and embellishments. I loosely followed the Mojo Monday sketch for week 123 (link HERE). Here's my card:
and here's the card open:

and here is the back:

I made this with one of the new stamp sets available in the Occasions Mini catalogue - Garden From The Heart. I love this set, it's very versatile.
I stamped the hanging herbs in a continuing line (so much easier now that the stamps can be ordered in Clear Mount) at the tope of the white section. Both of the hats were stamped in Basic Black then coloured with Stampin' Write markers and cut out. The underneath one on the left is adhered flat on the WW piece, and the left hand one is popped up on dimensionals. I used some new Old Olive Satin Ribbon , a Filigree Brad, and a Black Brad for the embellishmet on the left. I threaded the ribbon through the Filigree Brad after attaching the black brad to it. The sentiment is also from the same set and is stamped in Basic Black. The bird is coloured with Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue, then I punched it out with the curly label punch. I wanted to highlight the frame a bit more, so I just used the side of the Black Marker and ran a thick line around it up to the fram that was stamped (I hope that makes sense to you!).
Here's the complete list of ingredients:
Stamps: Garden From The Heart, On Your Birthday, Pocket Silhouettes
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Markers: Pale Plum, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Lavender Lace, Yoyo Yellow, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Basic Black
Paper: Razzleberry Lemondade DSP
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black,
Other: Curly Label Punch, dimensionals, Filigree Brad, Black Brad, Old Olive Satin Ribbon
Thanks for looking, off now to have dinner with DH, then get some ideas for make-n-takes for my open house and a Home Based Business Fair I am invited to participate in..................

Turtle Punchie Card - Belated Birthday!

I have my monthly Punchie Class on Tuesday and I am just now getting the cards made! Kinda last minute, but at least I've had this one in my brain for the past few days, just had to find time to make it. A couple of years ago I bought the set Older And Wiser, this is the first time I have used the "did I at least get the month right?" stamp.
This is a Joy Fold card and I used the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers to make it.

These are the supplies I used:
Stamps: Older and Wiser, Embrace Life
Ink: Old Olive, Close To Cocoa
Paper: Cottage Wall DSP, Kaleidoscope DSP
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
Other: Word Window and Modern Label punches, sponges, dimensionals, Tommy the Turtle Punchie by Heather Summers (http://www.stampinwithheather.com/ )

My DH did some storage installation in my craftroom yesterday while I was holding classes. I needed some button storage (way too many containers for my tower storage). So we bought real cheap towel racks from the local big box store (not Ikea as it is too far away from our house) and he installed them for me. Now the button containers are out in the open and I can actually see what I have............ Here's a picture for you to see.

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend. We are having quality Grand time with our Grandson James overnight tomorrow. Can't wait, all those puddles are calling our name I am sure. Rubber boots, rain gear for Gramma and Grampa and Muddie Buddie for him and off we go! ................... Glenda Mollet

Birthday Easel Card

Sunday my downline and I headed to Campbell River (on Vancouver Island) about 1.5 hrs away for a Front Row Regional. It was truly great. I went to the Edmonton Regional, and just let me say that this was much better. Why you ask? Well it only took us 1.5 hrs to get there, no flying and depending on airports was involved, there was a small contingent of us demos, and if we had a question regarding the DVD, we could pause it and carry on. I missed the big venue part, but it was really nice. Thanks, Barbara, for putting this on for us!

So today I have an Easel Card to share with you. On Wednesday mornings I go to our local Recreation Center and have quality time with a bunch of great ladies in our local Sunshine Club. We make a card or two, have lots of laughs and its just awesome. Today I had to create one of the cards we will be doing this week. Here's a picture of the card outside and the inside too:

For the front I used a piece of Bride Specialty DSP and sponged it very lightly with Taken With Teal classic ink. Then I stamped the tree image from Very Versatile once on scrap paper then on the DSP. As the shiney parts of this paper do not hold ink, I used a sponge to lightly remove the ink on the shiney parts, which left the tree kind of in the distance. I wanted something very soft and flowey on this card. The layer with Ruby Red in it is poppped up and the sentiment is popped on dimensionals as well. Inside the sentiment is popped to provide the stop to rest the card on when it is open. Here are the details:
Stamps: Very Versatile, Sincere Salutations, Curvey Versus (inside)
Ink: Taken With Teal and Basic Gray classic pads
Paper: Bride Specialty DSP
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Taken With Teal, Ruby Red
Other: Dimensionals
These cards are so easy to make and they are definitely a WOW. I used the tutorial located in THIS post.
Have a super day............ Glenda Mollet
