Flip Over Calendar - CASEd

I was lucky enough to be the recipient of one of Barb Tripp's Flip Over Calendar at Stampin' Up!s recent Vancouver Regional Seminar. It is awesome, thanks Barb!
EDIT:  Barb got it from Susan Easter (part of our Vancouver Island Demo Group) who got it from a friend in the USA.  Contact me if you are the originator and I will gladly give you credit!!
I CASEd it and made some minor changes and will give this to my workshop Hostesses this weekend.  Here are some pictures ......
This is the calendar standing ......
and from the side .....
and here it is open and lying flat ....
and the bottom stand part .....

It is quite ingenious, the stand part is attached on one side, and removeable from the other, when you want to change the calendar to the inside ones, just slip the removeable side out, flip the calendar over, and re-insert the stand.  Voila!
Here is the Winter page ....

and closer up of the ribbon and heart embellishment ...

And this is Spring ......

And the bird closer up, notice the rhinestone for the eye .....

And now for summer (Barb showed me how to make this flower, I love it) ....

I used Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz on the flower, you can just see it here .....

And last but not least Fall ....

Of course the use of the Owl Punch was mandatory, don't you just love these little cuties ....

I made these calendars while away in our trailer so I had limited supplies.  I forgot to bring the Snowflake Die with me for the Winter page, and had to make do with a Valentine's theme instead.
UPDATE:  If you would like instructions and downloadable calendars, please see THIS post from Mon. Mar 7, 2011
Thanks again, Barb, for sharing your awesome creation, I hope I have done it justice.

Pretty In Pink Flower - CASEd Card

Last weekend I travelled to a city close ot where I live to have a craft day with some of my fellow demonstrators.  We were prepping for the Vancouver Regional Event this Saturday.  There were 4 demos and a visitor (hi Barb, Colleen, Bruni and Mom - waves).  It was an awesome day, and thanks to Barb Tripps for her hospitality.  Barb showed me two cards that she created for her Stampin' Ladies, and boy were those cards awesome.  The first one I just had to case, and it is below.  The second one uses the Cupcake Suite which I don't have posession of ..... yet!
Barb does not have a blog, which is truly too bad because she is a very gifted papercrafter.  Here is the card I cased .....

Is this card not truly fabulous???  It is so simple, yet the imact is huge.  I did do one extra thing, I spritzed the flower with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz after I built it and before I put it on the card.  A bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter in the center just makes the whole flower the center of attention.  Here is a close up of the flower, you can see the glitz in it ...

Stamps:  Build A Blossom, Something To Celebrate
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Basic Black
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Pretty In Pink
Other:  Scallop Trim Border and Corner punches, Blossom Petals punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
I hope you come back tomorrow and see how I took this card and converted it to this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  It too is truly sparkly!!
Bye for now from snowy Port Alberni, BC .....

Vintage Flower Adorned Thank You Card - CASEd Card

I cased another one of Chat W's awesome cards.  HERE is the link to her card and blog post.  I changed the type of ribbon, and did not do the tag punches.  I added a sentiment on the front as well.  Here is my version ....
As usual, there is not much to change on one of Chat's cards, I think they are so fabulous, she has such a great eye for composition and colours.  Thanks, Chat for every one of your inspirational cards.
Stamps:  Sweet Summer A Word For You
Ink:  Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Paper:  Baja Breeze Patterns DSP
Other:  Scallop Trim Border Punch, XL Scallop Circle punch, Circles 2 Die, 1-3/4" Circle PUnch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Baja Breeze and Old Olive Markers, Vintage Flower Adornment, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Old Olive Satin Ribbon
Over the next couple of days I am going to share with you some cards made by my DIL and FDIL (future).  They are both amazingly talented ladies and I love being on the receiving end of one of their cards.

Very Vanilla Floral - CASEd card

I cased this card from Darlene McCallum in THIS post, I don't have the set she used, so I improvised with the ones I have.  Here is my version ... .... .....
I used the same colour scheme as Darlene, I absolutely love that Stampin' Up! has come out with more colours of Seam Binding ribbon.  This one is Rose Red and it coordinates perfectly with the Rose Red Vintage Flower Adornments.  The new Framed Tulips Embossing Folder is so versatile, it can be used for a number of different shapes.
Stamps:  Frames With A Flourish (retired), Tiny Tags flower and sentiment
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Rose Red
Other:  Rose Red Seam Binding, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Vintage Flower Adornment
Although I really like cards with lots of layers on them, I also am in love with cards that have only one colour other than the neutral.  They are so peaceful and calming.
Thanks so much for your visit today and Happy Stampin'    ......   Glenda Mollet

Dazzling Build A Blossom

My card for you today is based on THIS one from Gretchen Barron.   Gretchen made hers 5-1/4" square and spread it out a bit.  I wanted a regular sized card, so I rearranged things a bit.  I loved the colours she used, so I used the same ones.  Here is my card .....

I spritzed my flower with Champagne Mist Shimmer spritz before I attached it to the card.  Then I used a button from the Brights Collection (Old Olive) for the flower center.  The sentiment has a couple of Basic Rhinestones on the Modern Label punch layer.
Stamps:  Build A Blossom, Occasional Quotes
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper:  In Colour Patterns DSP - Blushing Bride
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Blushing Bride
Other:  Blossom Petals Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Button - Brights Collection, Basic Rhinestones, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon

Simple Friendship Birthday Wishes

Another card inspired / cased from Chat Wszelaki in THIS post.  I did change a few things on my card .....

My version has no ribbon, I used only one flower in the bottom left hand corner, along with some Little Leaves.  I stamped my flower in Basic Black onto Peach Parfait cardstock, then put a square of Sizzix Adhesive Sheet on top.  Then I cut out the flower, removed the liner of the adhesive sheet, and pushed it into Dazzling Diamons Glitter sticky face down.  Then I slipped a Basic Rhinestone in the center of the flower.  The flower from Friends Never Fade was stamped in varying degrees of Peach Parfait and So Saffron onto the whisper white that I cut out with my Top Note Die.  I put a bit of Diamond Stickles on the butterfly along with 6 of the row Basic Rhinestones.
Stamps:  Simple Friendship, Friends Never Fade, Elegant Cheer
Ink:  Basic Black, Peach Parfait, So Saffron
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait
Other:  Top Note Die, Diamond Stickles, Basic Rhinestones, Little Leaves die, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Sizzix Adhesive Sheets
Ah, another day closer to the weekend.  Not that I have to worry about that anymore.  In my life every day is a weekend day now that I am "retired"!!!  Happy Stampin'   Glenda Mollet

Punch Potpourri Thinking Of You

This card was inspired by Chat Wszelaki in THIS post.  Chat made her card a Christmas card.  I used the layout and the same stamps, but changed the colour scheme and made mine a Thinking Of You card.

I am still keeping up with using those colours that are not my "go to" colours.  This one uses Marina Mist and Cajun Craze.  I do like Cajun Craze, but hardly ever use Marina Mist.  Which is really too bad, because its a great colour, and it has matching ribbon too!
Stamps:  Punch Potpourri, Curly Cute
Ink:  Marina Mist, Cajun Craze
Paper:  Subtles Patterns DSP - Marina Mist
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Marina Mist
Other:  2 Step Bird Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Build A Brad, Marina Mist Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls
Have a great "hump" day!    Glenda Mollet

You're A Blast - CASEd Card

Hi, I am back again, with another card CASEd from the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11. This one is from page 76.  I did not have the textured cardstock to make the card out of so I used the "direct to paper" technique with my Old Olive Classic Pad on Old Olive Cardstock.  This technique is extremely easy.  Just open your ink pad up, get your cardfront ready, place the ink pad in your hand with the pad facing the paper, and "smoosh" the pad around on the paper.  You can do it as little or as much as you want.  You can swirl, push, pull, or any other motion you want.  Each motion leaves a different kind of pattern on your cardstock.  I used swirl and push for this one.

In the catalogue, this card uses the Stars #2 die for the Big Shot.  But (horrors and shudder) I don't have it ..... YET!  I know, can you believe it?  I can't what happened there!  But it is on its way to my craft room as I type this!
I watercoloured the rocket using the ink pads listed below and an aqua pen directly onto Whisper White cardstock.  This is possible if you don't use too much water, which breaks down the fibres of the cardstock.  The sentiment "flag" is a strip of cardstock that is hand cut on the end.
Stamp Set:  Pun Fun
Ink:  Old Olive, StazOn Black, For colouring - Concord Crush, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant and Concord Crush
Other:  Star XL Punch, small star punch (retired), Old Olive Grosgain Ribbon, Retired Thread, Subtles Brads, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Circle Punch
Thanks, friends.  You're A Blast!  I appreciate each and every one of you visiting my blog and leaving all the awesome comments.  I'll be back tomorrow with another Owl card.

Eastern Blooms Birthday Card - CASEd card

On page 112 of the Stampin' Up! Main Catalogue (IBC) 2010-11 there is a cute little box.  I took that idea and made a birthday card out of it, with a bit of a twist using a new product from the Occasions Mini catalogue .......

This card was quick and easy to make (under 10 mins).  I ran the Baja Breeze piece through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  After inking up the Eastern Blooms flower with Perfect Plum I used the Rock and Roll technique to add some Concord Crush to the outsides of the petals.  Then I popped one of the new Vintage Flower adornments (now available in the Occasions Mini catalogue, page 15) into the center of the flower, then some fussy cutting to cut out the bloom.  I attached a piece of Cardstock weight Vellum to the back of the cut out bloom (using adhesive just in the center of the bloom) and cut out the vellum so it was the same shape as the inked image.  Then I put some dimensionals between the cardstock petal and the vellum petal so the petals stay popped up a bit for some dimension.  The sentiment is stamped in Concord Crush on a piece of Pear Pizzazz and attached to the cardfront, then the flower is attached to that.  Quick an simple and very effective.  You could make this one out of Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, and the flower done in purples as it is, and wow would that be effective.  Hmmmmm,  well off to make another one of these cards using that colour scheme right away!

Stamps:  Eastern Blooms, Sincere Salutations
Ink:  Concord Crush, Perfect Plum
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Vellum
Other:  Vintage Flower adornment, Square Lattice EF, dimensionals

In a hurry now, gotta make another card (heehee)!  Bye for now ......  Glenda Mollet

Autumn Splendor Birthday Card - CASEd Card

On page 119 of the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11 there is a little box using this stamp set and DSP.  I took the box and made a card out of it ............
This card has lots of fussy cutting on it.  I wanted a masculine birthday card, so could not use flowers or ribbons and bows.  So I dug out my Linen Thread and created a focal point with the stamp set "Autumn Splendor".  I stamped the oak leaves in Early Espresso, then used daubers to add colour to them with the inks listed below.  Then I cut them out.  I did not even use any bling on this card!  For the acorns, I stamped them in Early Espresso as well, then added Crumb Cake to the entire thing, then a bit of Soft Suede to the cap and let it invade the nut part a bit.  Then more fussy cutting.  Here is a close up of the leaves and acorns so you can see the layering    .........

I wrapped the Linen thread around the DSP / Basic Black layer, then tied a bow onto it after layering the leaves and acorns.  I stamped the acorns in the background behind the sentiment as well using Early Espresso, but I stamped them off first on some scrap paper.

Stamps:  Autumn Splendor, Messages For Mom
Ink:  Early Espresson, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Peach Parfait, Bravo Burgundy, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Newsprint DSP, Very Vanilla and Basic Black cardstock
Other:  Daubers, Linen Thread, Magnetic Movers and Shapers die - Punch Windows set, Modern Label punch

Just Believe Birthday Candles - CASEd Card

Today a card for you from page 97 of the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11, with a few changes.
Here you go ... ... ...

Once again  I used the Colour Spritzer Tool on this card.  I keep forgetting this awesome tool, which is dirt cheap and packs a real whallop on a card when used.  HERE is a youtube video by Dawn on how to use this tool.  I have to remember to use this tool more often.

Stamps:  Just Believe, Whimsical Words
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Old Olive Marker for spritzing
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Other:  Colour Spritzer Tool, Curly Label punch, Magnetic Movers and Shapers die - Punch Windows set, 3/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls

I truly appreciate each and every one of you visiting my blog and all the lovely comments viewers take the time to leave.  Thank you all so very much!

Bugs and Kisses - CASEd Card

I bought this Linen Thread a long time ago and have not gotten around to using it yet.  When I saw this card on page 96 of the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11, I hunted until I found it in my stash.  Another quick card for you today.  Also, another kids card, and one that could be feminine or masculine.  I used Baja Breeze, as it is in the catalogue, and made a masculine birthday card.

This card could also use Pretty In Pink and be just as awesome.  And it could be for a younger "kid" or an older "kid" too.
Stamp set:  Bugs and Kisses
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Other:  Linen Thread, Very Vanilla 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon
That's it, just that easy and a very few supplies.  If you are just getting started in Stampin' Up!, this list of supplies would be very versatile, and you could make all sorts of cards with it.

Two Step Owl XL Punch - CASEd Card

I just love this punch - Two Step Owl XL.  It is so versatile.  You can do Christmas owls, Valentine's Day owls, Easter owls, children's fairytale owls, the possibilities are endless!  This one is two Birthday Owls.  I CASEd this from page 94 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue 2010-11........

I made this for a girl who will be turning 9.  I don't even know any girls turning 9, I just liked the number with this card.  It could be made in blue as well, and be just as nice for a boy.  Or make it in red and give it to a female friend.  Just so many possibilities (sorry I did say that once already!).
Stamp Set: On Your Birthday
Ink:  Early Espresso
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz and Pretty In Pink Patterns DSP
Cardstock:  Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Perfect Plum
Other:  Two Step Owl XL Punch, Two Step Bird XL Punch, Nestabilities

The Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue is definitely all THAT.  It is chocker block full of great card, 3D, and Scrapbooking projects.  Inspiration is never more than the turn of a page away when you have this catalogue.  I CASEd this one from page 75 of the Stampin' Up! IBC 2010-11 .......

This card is so quick to do, I am sure it would fit the bill for a "10 Minute Challenge" card.
Stamp Set: Happy Together
Ink:  More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Early Espresso, and Poppy Parade
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Whisper White and Poppy Parade
Other:  Clear Rhinestone Brad
These little birds are just darling and soooo cute!

Punchie Owl - CASEd Card

I was in a swap a while ago (I think about June or July) and got this card in the swap from Leslie Strand a friend from USA.  (wave to Leslie!)  I finally got around to making one of my own, I changed the card colours a bit, but the owl punchie is direct from Leslie.

Isn't he darling?  Here is the recipe for the owl:
Body - 1-3/4" Circle - Whisper White
Body - 1-3/4" Circle - Bravo Burgundy - cut out with the pun again to show the white part
Wings - 4 x Small Heart punch - Bravo Burgundy
Feet - Snowflake XL punch - So Saffron
Beak - small heart from Heart To Heart punch - So Saffron
Eyes - Itty Bitty punch round - Whisper White
Eyes - 1/4" Circle punch - Basic Black
Branch - 2 Step Bird XL punch - Certainly Celery
I used retired DSP for the card and the So Saffron card is embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
Thanks for visiting, talk to you tomorrow!  Glenda Mollet

Just Believe - CASEd Card

Hi I'm back again with another card I CASEd.  This time its from Tiffany Bauer.  Visit her blog for some great cards!

Tiffany made her card red, and I decided I needed to create this one in blues.  I used the Patterns Designer Series Paper - Marina Mist and Night of Navy cardstock.  I dug out my Colour Spritzer Tool (item 107066 - page 195 of the main Stampin' Up! catalogue) and spritzed the background of the white pice in Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist using my Stampin' Write Markers.  This tool is awesome, and I hardly ever think to use it.  Thanks, Tiffany, for the nudge!  This card measures 9" x 4" and fits into a legal size envelope.  One of the Antique Brads finishes off the Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon.
No more turkey for me, I am completely finished with turkey for another year.  Now for some basic chicken!  I know, weird, huh?  Thanks for visiting, Happy Stampin'   Glenda Mollet

Just Believe Brayered Card - CASEd Card Share

This is the last one of my CASEd cards for now.  This is CASEd from Gretchen Barron, another very talented lady.  I love brayering, which this card uses.  I love clean and simple, which this card is, and I LOVE rhinestones and bling of any kind, which I made this card have!

I used almost the same colours as Gretchen, but I changed the Pretty In Pink to Pink Pirouette to make it a bit softer.  I added Basic Rhinestones to the butterfly body and made antennas for him as well.  I also added a sentiment to the bottom, and omitted the ribbon.  My Just Believe floral images are stamped in Early Espresso instead of Chocolate Chip.  So I used the same colour scheme, just used a couple of different colours.  When making this card, make sure you ink your floral images really, really well so you get good coverage and solid stamped images (yup learned this by the hard way!).
Happy Christmas Eve, everyone!  I hope your day is fabulous tomorrow, and Santa is good to each and every one of you.  I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to visit my blog!

Floral Birthday - CASEd Card Share

I went from Clean and Simple yesterday, to Fussy and Fun today.  This card was CASEd from Chat Wszelaki.  Chat used the tree image from Stampin' Up!'s Contempo Christmas and a small oval punch to create this fun card.  Another card showing how to use a seasonal stamp in a non-seasonal way.

I used different Designer Series paper - mine is Greenhouse Gals, so I used Pear Pizzazz along with Whisper White and Real Red.  I also used the Ovals die to make the red piece behind the sentiment, it layers perfectly with the Wide Oval Punch.  My ribbon is Real Red Satin.
Another great card CASEd from a very talented lady.  Thanks Chat!
I have one more cased card for you tomorrow, then I actually have a "Glenda Mollet Original" for you!

Owl Love - CASEd Card

When I first saw this card, I instantly fell in love with how whimsical it is.  The cute owls are just perfect looking at each other with lovey-dovey eyes.  The Sunny Garden Designer Series paper makes it a bright and fun card.  I CASEd this one from Lynn Put.  Check out her blog - she is truly gifted!  Here is my version - I did change it up a bit from the original ..............

I used a sentiment for an anniversary, added some whisper white leaf punches and a white button.  I also changed out the striped DSP for some polka dotted one to make it a bit softer.
Happy Tuesday everyone.  Only 4 shopping days left (including today), I hope you are ready and not out fighting those horrible crowds.  Bye for now .......  Glenda Mollet

French Foliage - CASEd Card #2

This is another one of the cards I saved to CASE from a while ago.  This is one of Robin Merriman's cards.  Boy do I love how she makes clean and simple cards.  I was wowed by this one when I read it is only ONE LAYER!  Yup, only one, nothing else.  It is just ink, stamps and one 8.5 x 4.25 piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock.  Check out her blog post and see the other cards she made with one layer.  Yup I plan on casing some of those too!
My colours here are Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake.  I drew the lines with my Basic Gray marker.  This would be the perfect card to mail overseas!
Hope you had a great weekend, and are all ready for the big day.  I am all set for Christmas, just have to buy the turkey and fixin's which I am doing this morning!  I even have desert all ready (I cheated and bought it, but shhhh don't tell  anyone!) LOL.
Bye for now, I'll be back tomorrow with another cased card ... ... ...  Glenda Mollet
