The Graduate Owl Punchie Image

A perfect card for that awesome Graduate in your life!!!

This was such a fun card to make.  The background is the now retired Wonderfully Worn background stamp, and I inked it in VersaMark, then used the Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I love sparkles.  I hand cut the tree trunk and branch, and the sentiment was computer generated.

Stamps:  Woodgrain Background, Wonderfully Worn Background (R)
Ink:  VersaMark, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke
Other:  Irridescent Ice EP, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Little Leaves Die, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Graduation Owl Punchie

Here is the how to page for the Graduate Owl punch image ....

Hope you get a chance to create your own Graduate Owl punchie image.  If you do, email me a link or picture, I would love to see your creations!

Photo Frame Note Pad #2

All set up for the Craft Fair and ready to go!  Another note pad to share with you today.

Here is a closer look at how it stands.  Remember this is one of those plastic photo frames that are very cheap ....

More retired DSP (I think I have a "bit" to use up from past catalogues, LOL).  I added a cute pink and silver owl to this one to match the bling on the paper.  Then added some white branches for him to sit on.  The flower in the background kind of looks like a moon, don't you think?
More tomorrow, and when I get a chance I will give you some dimensions, supplies and a recipe.
Hope to see you at the craft fair at the Cup and Saucer Eatery, 4505 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni, BC.
Happy Stampin' ......

Owl Santa Ghirardelli Christmas Favour - TUTORIAL

As promised, I am back today with a tutorial on how I made THIS cute Christmas goodie holder.
Supplies you will need are:
   Simply Scored Tool
Silver Glimmer, Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock
   Stapler and Staples
   Bone Folder
Owl Builder and Decorative Label Punches
   Snow Burst Embossing Folder
   Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz
Sentiment Stamp - I used Petite Pairs
   Basic Black Classic Ink
   Real Red Stampin' Write Marker

Cut a piece of Real Red cardstock 6-1/4 x 2-1/2"
Score at 5/8, 3-3/8, and 3-3/4' using your Simply Scored Tool (notice the markers I placed so that I can quickly repeat the score lines and not loose my place!)

Cut a piece of Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock to the sizes below.  Spritz the Whisper White piece with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz:
Using the Owl Builder Punch, Real Red, Basic Black and Silver Shimmer cardstocks, punch out the following owl pieces:
 Put the owl together:
Run the Whisper White piece through the Big Shot using the Snow Burst Embossing Folder:
Using the bone folder, fold along all the lines of the Real Red base:
Add the Ghirardelli Chocolate inside the base, fold over the bottom and staple it closed.  Make sure you staple towards the bottom so you have a flap left to slip the top under:
To make the sentiment - Stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Insert into the Decorative Label punch as shown below: (sorry this picture is a bit blurry)
Take the piece out, turn it around, insert it into the punch, line up and punch as shown:
Then edge the sentiment piece using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker:
Attach the owl and the sentiment to the front of the chocolate holder using dimensionals:
You are now done!  Now the hard part, do not eat it before you give it away!  Good Luck!!!

Owl Santa Ghirardelli Christmas Favour

It is time to start thinking about Craft Fairs and Favours for my Customer Appreciation Month.  I found some Ghirardelli Chocolates on a super duper sale at the local Shopper's Drug Mart the other day and knew instantly what I could do with them.  Here is what I came up with ....
A closer view of the cute Santa Owl and if you look close you can see the sparkle from the Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz I used on the white pieces ...
And the inside where the chocolate is ....
These little match book party favours would be so cute as place cards for a Christmas Dinner, or as favours for work mates, school mates, or any get together you have at Christmas.  I will try to get a tutorial done for you on how to make these, with all the dimensions.
Stamps:  Petite Pairs
Ink:  Basic Black
Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer Paper
Other:  Owl Builder Punch, Small Oval Punch {retired :-(  }, Snow Burst Embossing Folder, Stapler, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz
Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit my blog.  Have a super weekend!

Stocking Builder Punch Hobby Horse

Yesterday I showed you a Reindeer made from the Stocking Builder Punch (Holiday Mini Catalogue Page 34, Item #124095 - $22.95).  Today I have a Hobby Horse for you that I also made out of this punch ....
I punched the "head" out of Soft Suede cardstock, then I used my bone folder and curled the cardstock both ways until it started to separate the layers.  I pulled apart the cardstock exposing the inside that looks like suede, then I glued the layers back together with the suede sides out.  Voila a realistic looking horse!  Think I will try one of the reindeer this way too, soon.  The eye is punched out of basic black cardstock using the smallest eye part of the Owl Builder Punch and the mane, forelock and bridle are all hand cut.
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Basic Black
Other:  Stocking Builder Punch, Owl Builder Punch

UPDATE: here is the blog post by Patty Bennett where I saw both of these images

Owl Punchie - Grad Owl

I had a friend and customer request a special graduation card (Hi Lorene!).  I was stumped until I created the Black and Red Owl Card in THIS post.  Then I knew what I wanted to do.  I created a Grad Owl using the 2 Step Owl Punch by Stampin' Up!  This is such a fantabulous punch, every time I make or see an owl using this punch, it is just as cute as all the other ones, and the possibilities are limitless for its use.
Here is the Grad Owl I came up with ......
This picture shows Graddy (cute name huh?) on the card I created.  Come back tomorrow and I will share that card with you.  Meanwhile here is a picture of the "how to" card ...

Most of it is self explanatory, except for the "hat".  For the part that sits on the head, I punched out part of the small star punch (it is now retired, but you can use the small star from the Stars #2 Die), then I used the 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch to punch it out.  Then you cut off the extra pieces on the side, that gives you a pointed hat looking piece for the head.  Then for the square mortar board part I cut out a 3/4" piece of cardstock, drew lines from point to point on both sides, then measured in 1/8" on two opposite points, and 1/4" on the remaining opposite points. Then I hand cut between the marks (I hope that is clear enough for you).
You can adapt this punch image to any school colour by adjusting the colour of the sash and the tassel.  You could even put glasses on it if you wish.
Back tomorrow with the card Graddy is sitting on ......

Black and Red Owl Birthday Card

This card came to me in the wee hours of the morning.   I had it in my mind using the Swirly Die instead of the branch from the 2 Step Bird Punch, but did not have it with me in the trailer.  So had to make do.
I used Basic Black for the main card, then spritzed some Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz on it so that it looks like stars in the night sky.  I love every one of the owls I create from the 2 Step Owl Punch by Stampin' Up!  Every one is different, but they are all so cute.  This one makes a great masculine birthday card.
Stamps:  Messages For Mom
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Neutrals Patterns Designer Series Paper
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Other:  2 Step Owl Punch, 2 Step Bird Punch, Wide Oval, Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Basic Pearls
Thanks for visiting, I am home again and off and running with classses.

Owl Birthday Make 'n Take cards

On Saturday, April 16th I will be participating in a Business Fair in Port Alberni, BC with my downline, Shanna.  This is the 3rd one and they are a lot of fun.  We set up a table that has cards for sale, catalogues, scrapbooking, and other great ideas.  We also have a Make 'n Take table where anyone can come and create a quick card.  This year we will be doing a birthday card using the 2 Step Owl Punch and some retired cardstock, DSP and ribbon we have hanging around.  Here is the card I designed for it ....

I am sad that with Sale-A-Bration over, this little owl stamp is gone.  But I will continue to use it because it is just too cute to hide away.
I would love for you to come to the Business Fair on Saturday, April 16, from 9 am to 4 pm.  It will be held in the brand new Athletic Hall which is up by the arena.  If you would like to come, and need directions, please EMAIL ME and I will send them to you.  There will be approx 50 vendors, the local Bread Of Life Society will have the kitchen open with soup and sandwiches for sale, and there will be draws.  I heard one of the vendors will also be having a silent auction for $1000 worth of their product!
Hope to see you there.  Stop by our table and make one of these happy little cards.
Bye for now, off to the beach again .......

Owl Punchies - Betty Baker

Hey there, everyone!  I created this cute little Baker Owl Punchie by following Kay Sha's awesome instructions.  I just discovered Kay's blog called Creations On Paper, and boy does she have some cute punchie images!  I see more casing in my future.  Thanks Kay!!!!
Anyways, here is my Betty Baker owl punchie .....
I won't re-do the instructions because Kay has such awesome ones, and lots of pictures so its easy to follow along.
Now I have to create a birthday card for our Grandson, James, who will be turning 3 next week.  What is his favourite thing in the world right now?  Well he has 2 - the "Cars" movies and the "Toy Story" movies.  Thanks to Ellen Kemper I have a Buzz Lightyear punch image to create!  I'll share it with you when it is done.
Bye for now and Happy Stampin' ...............

Owl Punchie - Wanda Witch

Here is the Witch punch image I had on my blog yesterday, then I discovered I cased it from Jayne Stenstrom.  I just love this one, but then I love all of them, LOL .....

Between the 2 Step Owl Punch and the 2 Step Bird Punch, I think you can create just about any image imaginable.  Now we have the Blossom Petal Punch and it just opens the door even wider.
Check back tomorrow I will have a "Baker" owl punch image for you.

So darned cute, don't you think?  Thanks, Cristena, for the awesome Owl Punchies.  Thanks for popping by, I hope you get some stamping done today!

EDIT:  I edited the original post and removed the Witch owl punchie and inserted the Bat punchie as the Witch was from a different stamper.  I will show you the Witch tomorrow.  Sorry for the inconvenience!
