Very Vanilla Butterfly Card Share

Hello Everyone!

Another card share for you today using some butterfly themed products from Stampin' Up!

Every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30, I meet up with a group of lovely stampers from our local Sunshine Club.  To be a member of this club you have to be over 50 years old, and to come to our Wednesday Morning Stamp Crafts Group, you have to be a member of the club.  I volunteer my time there, and have been since sometime in 2008.  I  really wish I had written down somewhere the date of the very first time I was invited to this amazing group of Ladies.

Each week we make one project, mostly cards, but sometimes a 3D project gets snuck in there.  Some of these ladies have been stamping for a very long time, and some are brand new to stamping.  I love every minute I spend with everyone there.  We have grown from a core group of 6, to having 19 on our membership list.  The first 6 ladies are still coming all this time later.

This is the card we are making today.

Once again I cased this from Sandi MacIver (I know you are probably getting tired of hearing this, but her cards are so amazing and they fit my style, and my stamper's style, so well).

Below is a list of supplies used for this card.  I would love to see butterfly cards you made.  EMAIL ME with your pictures, or leave a picture of it in the comments below!

I love it when Stampin' Up! puts a product on sale that I have a class planned for.  The Leaflets Dies above have that wonderful Oak Leaf die in it.  Next Monday (April 4th) in my 3D Class we will be making a Rudolf Fry Box using that die for the antlers.  Here is a picture of it for you.  Let me know if you would like to join us for the class, or want to purchase the Kit To Go.

I received this cute box at a meeting I attended a while ago in a Make 'n Take session.  It was done by my friend and fellow Demo MiRan Bigrigg.

Stampin' Up! Floating Reinker Technique Card Share

Hello Everyone!

As promised on Friday, I am back today to share with you the two cards we created in my Floating Reinker Technique Class last Thursday.

I first did this technique back in 2011 when Sandi MacIver introduced it in a video and tutorial.  It is an AMAZING technique, and no two flowers turn out the same.  We used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set way back then, but then Stampin' Up! retired that set.  I have been waiting ever since for a stamp set that would suit this technique and was so glad when the Occasions 2016 Catalogue came out this year and Birthday Blooms was in it.  Yippee!!!

Here is the first card we created ....

I was inspired by a few different cards for this one.  The Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper is on the inside and it peeps out through the die cut - from Botanical Buidlere Dies.

I added some flourishes from Everything Eleanor stamp set, and die cut three leaf stems out of Basic Black cardstock using the Rose Garden Dies.

Here is the second card we made ....

I cased this one from Becky Roberts over at Inking Idaho.  I love the soft simplicity of this card.  Both cards we a huge hit with my stampers.

One tip I will give you, and it is a huge one, is not to sweat it if your flower does not look very nice when you have just finished colouring it.  It will look real messy and unkempt but boy does it change when it is dry. Then you cut out the flower, and leave all the messy edges behind, and it is like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon.  It is simply amazing.

Here is a link to a video by Sandi MacIver back in 2011 on how to do this technique.  I have been having some "issues" with the videos not posting so I will give you the link as well as try to embed the video in my post.

Here is the link to it on youtube.com  ....

Here is the video (I hope, LOL) ....

When I did the class, I completely forgot to water the reinkers down a bit.  So sorry Ladies!  Also a heads up about the Pink Pirouette reinker.  It has been reformulated to work with the new foam ink pads.  It looks very gray when you first spread it around on your cardstock.  But just wait till it dries, as it will dry the correct colour.

Video Thursdays - Great Tip For The Rose Wonder Dies

Hello Everyone!

On Monday I shared with you three cards that we made in my March Stamp-A-Stack using the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Dies.  One of those cards had a LOT of itty bitty teeny tiny pieces that we pieced individually back into the rose die cut black frame.

One of my customers saw the video below on You Tube on using Press 'n Seal cling wrap to make the piecing part of that card so much easier.  Here is the card again for a refresher ....

See those itty bitty pieces?  They are so easy to misplace.  Lol, ask me how I know that????  Hee hee

Anyways, here is a great video from Youtube.com  .....

I can't believe how easy it was after discovering this little tip.  I sent my hubby out to buy some Press 'n Seal and it was on sale, so he bought me 2 boxes.  I have enough now for 45 years I think!

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Stampin' Up! You've Got This in Soft Sky CASE card share

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back!  As promised last Friday, I am back today to share an amazing card I CASED from Brian King over at Stamp With Brian.  I had the pleasure of meeting Brian during his very first Stampin' Up! Convention just after he started his stamping career.

Then a couple of years later, he was a featured presenter at the Convention.  He is a great artist and I love CASEing his creations.  This one really caught my eye because of it's simplistic beauty.

Here is a recipe of what I used ...
Stamps:  You've Got This, Number of Years
Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Whisper White Craft
  Paper:  Soft Sky - 11 x 4-1/4, 4-7/8 x 3-5/8, 3 x 2-3/4
              Basic Black - 5 x 3-3/4, 3 x 3, 1-1/4 x 3-1/2
              Whisper White - 2-7/8 x 2-7/8
              Pear Pizzazz - 2 x 2-1/2
Basic Black Patterns designer paper 2 x 4-7/8
Other:  It's My Party Enamel Dots, Wink of Stella Brush - Gold, Project Life Cards & Labels Dies

What a great card, don't you think?  I have a list of Stampin' Up! products used below.  You can click on any of them to go direct to my Online Store and order them for yourself, then create this card.  Once you have created it, EMAIL ME a picture, I would love to see it.
