One Day Mini Retreat - Project 6 - Petite Thank You card

Project 6 was another card from the online Creative Convention I participated in ....

I love the simplicity of this card.  You could make the flowers any colour you prefer.  They are from the Stampin' Up! Petite Petals stamp set and punched with the matching Petite Petals punch.  These can both be purchased in a bundle at a 15% discount!  Love, love, love bundles.  I did change the Thank You stamp as I did not have the suggested one. In my retreat the ladies could make this any sentiment they preferred.  So sad to see the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder gone, tho.  It was a Sale-A-Bration free product choice and I will miss it a lot.  Can we keep our fingers crossed that it shows up in a future catalogue??????

  Stamps:  Perfectly Penned, Petite Petals
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White
Other:  Decorative Dots EF (SAB-R), Whisper White Organza Ribbon (a classic that is still going strong), Petite Petals Punch, Basic Pearls, Ovals Die #3

One Day Mini Retreat - Project 5 - Fabulous Birthday card

Here is a very elegant card for you, it was the 5th project in my recent One Day Mini Retreat -

This card is a Glenda Mollet (that's me) original.  This does not happen often, but this one came quite easy to me.  Guess I was in a creative mood that day.  LOL
I used some of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum on the card, and backed it with some Pool Party cardstock.  The subtle result is quite striking.  Then I used the new Starburst Dies to cut out the Whisper White piece.  The circles on these two items really go well together.  A bit of Silver Metallic ink adds even more bling to the card.

  Stamps:  Fabulous Florets, Petite Pairs
  Ink:  Silver Metallic, Pool Party
Paper:  Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Whisper White
  Other:  Starburst Dies

Here are the pictures for the Silver Foil Vellum and the Starburst Dies.  Click on each picture to go to my online store......

One Day Mini Retreat - Project 4 - Mixed Flowers card

Project 4 from my One Day Mini Retreat to share with you today .....

This is basically the card from the online Creative Convention, but I changed the center of the flower as I did not have the stamp set that was suggested.  I sure miss this Sweet Sorbet DSP from the recent Sale-A-Bration from Stampin' Up!  It is now gone, gone, gone, never to return.  Insert Sad Face  :-(((((.

  Stamps:  Up Up and Away
  Ink:  Coastal Cabana
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Whisper White
Other:  Paper Doilies, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Blossom Punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch

I have been a demonstrator since Oct 2008 and I have never ordered the Crumb Cake envelopes!  I know, GASP!!  I recently ordered them, and I LOVE THEM!!  They are certainly different than envelopes you can buy anywhere else besides the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.  They are quite sturdy and a gorgeous colour - just like the Crumb Cake cardstock.  I used one for this card, and now use them for all my cards that have a Crumb Cake base.  Page 162 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue - #107297 - $7.95 for 40 envelopes.  Here is a picture, just click on it to go to my online store .....

Do you like the Whisper White, Very Vanilla or Crumb Cake envelopes the best?  Don't you just LOVE the quality of Stampin' Up! envelopes.  I love to co-ordinate my envelopes with the cards that are inside.  I like thinking of the Post Office people smiling as they sort or deliver them.  Just a little moment for me.  LOL

Happy Stampin' .....

One Day Mini Retreat - Project 3 - Crisp Cantaloupe Birthday card

This is the third project we made at my recent One Day Mini Retreat ....

Another project from the online Creative Convention I took.I changed the stamp images and the layout of the pearls, but the basic card is the same.  I had not used the Paper Doilies (page 156 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue #129399 - $3.99 for 24 doilies) much.  These projects certainly highlighted them, and they are very inexpensive to use!  Here is a picture of them, just click on it to go to my online store ....

Stamps:  Everything Eleanor, Create A Cupcake
Ink:  Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Paper:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB_R)
Other:  Paper Doilies, Apothecary Arts Die, Sponges, Basic Pearls, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffled Stretch Ribbon

Have you used the doilies at all yet?  At only 16 cents each, they are an inexpensive way to add a little somethin' somethin' to your card or 3D project.

Happy Stampin' .....

One Day Mini Retreat - Project 1 - Card Box

I few days ago I had a One Day Mini Retreat stamping class, this is the card box we made to hold our projects ....

Back in January I participated in an online Creative Convention by Maggie Patterson and Ronda Wade. We had so much fun!  This is the box from that class - with a bit of customization by me!  I will be sharing all the projects and the other goodies over the next few posts.  Hope you can come back and see them all!

  Stamps:  You're Lovely (SAB-R)
  Ink:  Early Espresso, Calypso Coral
  Markers:  Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding
Paper:  Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB-R)
Other:  Simply Scored Tool, Deco Framelits, Basic Pearls, Paper Doily, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch (R), 1/8" handheld punch, Pool Party Seam Binding

I stamped the flowers on whisper white cardstock, then stamped them again on another piece, cut them out and popped them up on the top of the original stamped image.

Have a great day, and Happy Stampin' .....

Butterfly Birthday Card

A classic layout was used for this card, along with some designer paper ....

Need a quick card for a birthday party?  This one will fill the need.  It was super quick to make, and the pearls take it up a notch.  As I tell my stampers, Everything is better with Bling!!!

  Stamps:  Papillon Potpourri, Simply Sketched
  Ink:  Island Indigo, Melon Mambo
Paper:  Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Gingham Garden DSP
Other:  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Large Oval Punch (R), Word Bubble Die, Basic Pearls

If you used male colours, and a DSP with a male theme, you could totally change the flavour of this card.  Why not try the Specialty Designer Series Paper Natural Composition?  Hmmmm, maybe I have to go now and do some more creating!  LOL

Natural Composition Sp. DSP - #126917 $15.95 (click on the picture to go to my online store)

Easter Chick - Gift Bow Die

Hello, a bonus post for you today - a cute Easter Chick!!!

I saw this on Kirsteen Gill's blog last month, and it looked like a lot of fun to create.  So I purchased the tutorial and sat down to make it happen.  Isn't he adorable?  Here are more pictures . . . . .

As I had to purchase the tutorial, I can't comment on how to make it.  But I can give you some supplies I used:

  Gift Bow Die
  Circles Dies
  1/8" Cello Bags
  Googlie Eyes (non Stampin' Up!)

That's it, the only supplies required.  You could sponge each piece if you wanted.  It would look pretty cool, but I did not want to cuz I was too in a hurry to get it created.  So much fun, thanks Kirsteen, for sharing!

Happy Easter to you!

Embossing Folder Holder meets Modern Medley Designer Paper

I took a class at the Stampin' Up! Convention last July, this is what we made ....

I changed the embellishments and designer paper a bit, but the basic design is the same. It is the original creation of Adela Rossol HERE is her blog ....

I did a class on this back in February, and a couple of days ago I held a Re-Do class for stampers who were not able to come the first time around.  The three "pockets" in the back of the picture fit inside the frame and when all assembled you can hold up to 30 Embossing Folders in this awesome projects.  It is made even more special by using the Modern Medley DSP, a bit of Silver Glimmer paper, and some Coastal Cabana Ruffled Stretch Ribbon ...

  Stamps:  None
  Ink:  None
Paper:  Basic Black (12x12), Silver Glimmer, Modern Medley DSP
Other:  Template from Adela, Red Liner Sticky Tape

Only a few supplies, but the copying and prep work for this product is a bit time consuming.  I am sure Adela still has the template for sale on her blog somewhere.

Wildflower Meadow Thank You card ....

Thought I would share another March Thank You card with you today ...

This one is made using the Wildflower Meadow background stamp (well part of it anyways LOL) and the matching Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder.  These two products are available in a bundle at a 15% discount.  Here is a picture of the bundle, just click on it to go to my online store ....
Wood bundle is #132175 - $26.95; Clear Mount bundle is #132985 - $22.75
http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=132985&dbwsdemoid=2028928
I love how Stampin' Up! has created co-ordinating products, and that they have bundled some of them together and then discounted them!!!

  Stamps:  Wildflower Meadow
  Ink:  Pool Party
Paper:  Pool Party Co'oredinations, Whisper White
Other:  Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen, XL Rhinestones

Paper Pumpkin Kit - March 2014 - Glittered Greetings

I finally had a chance to make up the awesome cards that came in the March Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Here is what the instructions suggest you do with the supplies.  There are Thank You and Congrats wooden embellishments ....

Then one of my very talented stampers (Hi Louise B) shared with me that she used embossing powder on her embellishments, so of course I had to try that. This one has Silver embossing powder first, then while it was still hot I dipped it in Irridescent Ice embossing powder for some added bling ....

Then I brought out the Gold Glitter and applied it to the wooden piece and put some Basic Black cardstock behind it.  I rounded the corners with my Envelop Punch Board .....

Then I pulled out all the stops in the bling department.  I used Gold Glitter on the sentiment, then because I always cut off 3" of the Gold Foil Envelope Liner that is provided in the kit, I used that for the background.  I layered it on Basic Black cardstock, and cut a piece out of Basic Black with my Window Framelits Die.  I also used a slice of Calypso Coral cardstock for some contrast.

Then I had to do a Gold Foil Paper background for the Congrats sentiment.  I used Basic Black to layer the Gold Foil, then again to layer under the sentiment.  This time I did not alter the wooden accent at all.

I added Basic Black to a Coastal Cabana card base, cut the front off of one of the supplied cards, and layered the Gold Foil and Basic Black pieces cut out with the Window Framelits Dies again.  The wooden accent is left as is for this one.

Finally, for card #8 (yup that's right, you now get 8 cards in the Paper Pumpkin Kits), I used a Whisper White card base, layered Basic Black on it, and cut another card front off of the card supplied.  Then I used Black Embossing Powder on the wooden sentiment and some Gold Baker's Twine.

So there's some ideas for you while making up your March Paper Pumpkin Kit.  If you are a current Paper Pumpkin Kit subscriber, you can also purchase extra kits this month!  These were a lot of fun to make.

HERE is a link (or if you can't click on that here it is again ....
 https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en-ca/?demoid=2028928
to go to the Paper Pumpkin website and sign up for your very own subscription.  It costs $24.95 plus tax per month, and you get 8 cards, or other papercrafting projects to do.  That's only $3.50 per card (with BC taxes included).  And I have a LOT of Gold Foil paper left over.  My thoughts are that you don't need a liner in the entire envelope as you only see the top 2 inches or so.  So why not save it for another project???

Happy Creating ......

Blessed Easter cards

Two ways to create this card for you today!

The top card was created by one of my downline, Carla Neville.  She does not have a blog so I can't share that with you.  But Carla is very talented.  Then I used the Blessed Easter stamp to recreate it.  This stamp comes as a single stamp and it has a sentiment attached.  I just cut off the sentiment and now I have an image that I can use for any occasion, not just Easter.  Here is a picture of the stamp, just click on it to go to my online store.

I love colouring and have discovered that the distressed look is my favourite.  Just colour as you would normally with a Stampin' Write Marker, but leave some white spaces - specially at the end of the petals.

  Stamps:  Blessed Easter, Simply Sketched
Ink:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, VersaMark
Paper:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding,
Other:  Labels Dies #3 and #7, Basic Pearls, Silver Embossing Powder (mine), Pewter Embossing Powder (Carla's), Blender Pen (Carla's), Stampin' Write Markers (mine) Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding

Hard to believe the cardstock in these two cards are the same, guess the lighting was different when I took each picture.  I love my camera, but sometimes it really distorts the colours.

Happy Stampin' ....
