Shaker Card Magic with the Spotlight On Nature Bundle – Live Demo Replay

 Hi Friends!

It’s shaker card time, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this beauty with you! During my Monday live stamping demonstration, I featured the Spotlight On Nature bundle—and let me tell you, it stole the show. This card has all the sparkle and movement a crafter could want, with soft floral elegance that ties everything together.

I’ve been having so much fun sharing a new project with this bundle each day this week, and I’ll be continuing that with a new live stamping session on both Wednesday and Thursday. Whether you join me live or catch the replay, you’ll get inspiration, tips, and creative ideas you can bring right to your craft table.

The card I’m sharing today on the blog is the one from Monday’s live session—this shaker card full of birthday wishes and colorful fun. I used the Spotlight On Nature bundle to create a layered look that adds softness to all that sparkle, and I even snuck in some subtle ribbon accents for a little extra polish.

The secret sauce behind this shaker card? A fun little interactive piece called a Flip Flap! It’s such a clever and easy way to create a sealed shaker element without the bulk of traditional window layers. During the video, I walk you through exactly how to use it, step by step, so you can confidently create your own Flip Flap shaker cards at home. It’s one of those techniques that looks tricky but is actually super simple—and gives your card that extra wow factor!

If you haven’t joined me live yet, you’re invited! I go live every Monday through Thursday this week on both Facebook and YouTube, and I’d love to have you there. Whether you're catching me live or watching later, it's a great way to learn new techniques, see Stampin’ Up! products in action, and get inspired for your next project.

Shaker Card Tutorial Replay

 Hi Friends!

Thank you for dropping in today!  I have a fun interactive card for you today.

This card has been prepped and waiting to be created by my group of Seniors in our local Sunshine Club.

It was supposed to happen last March (2020) but then, as you know, IT happened and we have not been able to be together since.

So this past Wednesday we finally got to create this card. The original card used the retired Easter Promise stamp set and is filled with a mixture of different kinds of retired sequins. This is the one that the Sunshine Club Ladies did.  But in the video below I use the Blessings Of Home stamp set which will be released in the Stampin' Up! Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue in January 2022.

I challenge anyone to pick up a shaker card and not play with it!  It is always so fun, no matter how many times I make one.

I also have a video to share with you on how to make this card, and the principle can be used for any shaker card. There are 3 key things to remember when making a shaker card:

1.  use foam strips to create a "pocket" for the shaker bits

2.  use an embossing buddy (or corn starch) to remove the static on the window sheet

3.  use enough or as little shakers to fill the pocket

If you would like to see how I created it, please watch the video below. If you enjoy it, please consider subscribing to my YouTube Channel so you don't miss any of my videos, tutorials and Live Stamping. Once you have subscribed, click on the bell icon to get notification when I add to my channel.

Full Front Shaker Card Video Link

 Hi Friends!

Last Friday night we gathered on my facebook page and created a Full Front Shaker Card!

It was so much fun, I am now addicted to these quick and easy cards. I dare you to make one and not play with it!

I recently sent a shaker Christmas card to my Doctor and the receptionist at his clinic.  The receptionist called to thank me for the card and told me it was sitting right beside her and she kept picking it up to shake it!  I love brightening someones day, even just a bit.  I am so thankful for our Medical community and how they have taken care of so many of us these past few months.

I shared my original full front shaker card on my blog on Friday (click here to see that post), and here is the card we made online together.....

Once the card was done, we did a walk through of the 2020 Aug to Dec Mini Catalogue and we talked about all the Retiring, Carryover and Hibernating products.

Check it out, some of the "tools" - dies, punches, etc - are on sale and it makes buying the bundles cheaper if you purchase the tool and stamp set separately!  Some of them you can save over $10 and that is nothing to sneeze at lol.

The video has been uploaded to my YouTube Channel, check out all my videos. I would appreciate it if you would subscribe to my channel while you are there.

Please sign up for my Weekly Update and Newsletters by completing the form at the top of my blog on the right side. I would love to keep you up to date on all the happenings, classes and promotions.

I hope you enjoy the video, I would love to see your Full Front Shaker Card, EMAIL ME or put your card in the comments on my Facebook Post.

Full Front Shaker Card and Sneak Peek

 Hi Friends!

I have been wanting to do a Full Front Shaker Card for a while now, and finally found the time!

I brought out a brand new stamp set called You Are Amazing, it will be debuting in the 2021 Jan to June Mini Catalogue on January 5, 2021.

I don't usually purchase stamp sets with just sentiments in them, but this one just popped into my cart when I was doing the pre-order for the new catalogue.  I guess it was meant to be ;)

I will be doing a live demonstration tonight at 8 pm (Pacific Time) on my facebook page on how I created this fun, colourful card. I hope you can join me!

CLICK HERE to go to my facebook page In My Craft Room Stamping With Glenda and craft along with me. The recipe will be posted there at 9 am (Pacific Time) so you can prepare your kit and create this fun technique along with me.  I will be doing it step by step.

I will also be uploading it to my YouTube Channel once we are finished.  I would love it if you would subscribe to my channel.  There are lots of videos there on creating fun projects using Stampin' Up! products.

Holiday Line Up Christmas Shaker Frame

Well here's another shaker card.  Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE the new Shaker Frames from Stampin' Up!  I sure hope they continue them after the Holiday Mini catalogue retires......

I used some Fine Galaxy Glitter - Red and Champagne - for inside the frame.  I also coloured a Basic Pearl with a red sharpie marker and added it inside for Rudolph's nose!  I think the glitter is a bit too fine as it sticks to the window sheet over the frame.  Oh well, live and learn!
Stamps:  Holiday Line Up, Occasional Quotes
Ink:  Basic Black, Early Espresso
Markers:  Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede
Cardstock:  Whisper white, Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red
Paper:  Letters to Santa DSP
Punches:  Scallop Trim Border, 2-1/2" Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, Decorative Label
Other:  Shaker Frames, Fine Galaxy Glitter, Circles #2 Die
Happy Stampin' .....

Sunflower Shaker Card

Still coming up with ways to use all the sizes of frames from the Stampin' Up! Shaker Frames.  These are brand new in the Holiday Mini Catalogue - page 38, Item 124155, $5.95 for a package of 36 frames!  Here is my latest card using the frames ....

I had some sugar beads in my stash so that is what I used for inside the shaker frames this time.  The first flower I made is the smaller one on the bottom and I did not use the Polka Dot Embossing Folder for the Soft Suede piece inside, but when I made the bigger one, I did and I like it better.  These frames are impossible to get apart once you attach them to cardstock or window sheets!  Believe me I tried, LOL.
Stamps:  Inspired By Nature, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink and Markers:  Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Calypso Coral
Punches:  Fancy Flower, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, Small Oval (retired, darn), 1-1.4" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer
Other:  Circles #2 Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Sugar Beads, Window Sheet, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Polka Dot Embossing Folder
I had a question earlier about how I punched out the Window Sheet.  Some of the punches don't work at all on it (eg: the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle).  But the Fancy Flower does, the Ornament does, the circles do.  I just sandwich the Window Sheet in some regular copy paper before I punch it, and it worked real well.
Happy Stampin' and I hope you give the Shaker Frames a try, they are real fun!

Christmas Collage Shaker Card

Another Shaker Card for you today.  I used the Christmas Collage Background stamp in Crumb Cake for the background ......

I used 3 different ornament stamps to create the Shaker Ornaments on this card.  The top one uses the 1" frame, the middle one uses the 1/2" frame and the bottom one uses the 3/4" frame.  This time I filled them with Mica Flakes.  Oh these are so pretty and change colour depending on the direction the light is hitting them.  And they come in a really BIG container too, so you get lots to work with.
I spritzed the background layer with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz but you can't see it in these pictures, and I used the Colour Spritzer to spritz some Early Espresso and Riding Hood Red Classic Ink onto the background as well.  Then I used daubers to add some colour around the edge of the background in Crumb Cake and Riding Hood Red
Stamps:  Christmas Collage Background, Delightful Decorations, Tags Till Christmas, Bells & Boughs
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Brushed Silver
Other:  Ornament Punch, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circl and 1/2" Circle Punches, Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches, Mica Flakes, Window Sheets, Shaker Frames
Happy Stampin' .....

Baroque Motif Ornament Shaker Card

More Christmas cards coming for you.  I wanted to devise a way to use the other frames from the Shaker Frames sets.  I created a Christmas card HERE that uses the biggest frame, then had all the other ones left over.  This one uses the frame that co-ordinates with the 3/4" Circle Punch .....
And a closer view of the Ornament Shaker embellishment ....
A while ago I saw a card that used the Baroque Motif swirl as a Christmas Tree branch to hang an ornament on.  I don't remember who the originator is, but if you email me I will give you proper credit.  I used the swirl in Always Artichoke to create the branch effect, then created the shaker ornament.
It's very easy, I just stamped the ornament once on Whisper White cardstock in Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink. Then I punched a 34" circle out of the ornament, then punched the ornament with the Ornament Punch.  I punched a second ornament on plain Whisper White, and one out of Window Sheet material.
Then adhered all the layers together with some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter in the middle of the shaker part.  These frames make it so darned easy to make Shaker Cards, and they co-ordinate with different sizes of Stampin' Up! punches!
Stamps:  Baroque Motif, Delightful Decorations, Christmas Greetings
Ink:  Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, VersaMark
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Other:  Shaker Frames, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Window Sheet, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder (for the sentiment)
Get some Shaker Frames and give the Shaker Card a try, you will become addicted, I promise!
Happy Stampin' ......

Snowman Shaker Card

New in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue are the Shaker Frames (page 38, Item 124155, $5.95).  It can't be any easier now to make awesome shaker cards.  Also in the catalogue is the new Mica Flakes (page 21, Item 124115, $4.50 for a LARGE container), Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (page 33, Item 124096, $9.75) and Pewter Stampin' Emboss Powder (page 31, Item 124114, $5.95).  I combined all four of these products to create this card for you .....
Here is a closer view of the shaker part.  I used the Button Buddies snowman for the image in behind.  But I have a "note to self" to use less Mica Flakes in the future!  I found out you can't remove the window sheet once it is adhered to the shaker frame!!!
And here is the sentiment where I used the Pewter Embossing Powder.  It really makes a crisp clean image.
Stamps:  Button Buddies, Jolly Old St. Nick, Many Merry Messages
Ink:  Pool Party, Basic Black, VersaMark
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party
Other:  Pewter Embossing Powder, Snow Burst Embossing Folder, Shaker Frames, Mica Flakes, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, 1-3/4" Circle Punch
The Shaker Frames are sized to fit Stampin' Up! punches as well ~~ 1-3/4", 1-1/2", 1-1/4", 1", 3/4" and 1/2' .  Easy Peasy, I hope you get a chance to give them a try!
Happy Stampin' ....
