Pleasant Poppies With The Scribble Technique

I love learning new techniques, and this simple and easy one is no exception .....

Techniques don't have to be hard and involved.  Sometimes they are quick and easy and pack a big punch.  This Scribble Technique is one of those.  You can use any colour, any scribble method, and it can be masculine or feminine!  Now how much better can that get?
All you do is stamp your desired image on cardstock, then select two (or three) different complementing colours and scribble over top of the stamped image.  Voila!

   Stamps:  Pleasant Poppies, Occasional Quotes
   Ink:  Midnight Muse, StazOn
   Markers:  Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie
   Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Other:  Midnight Muse Stitched Ribbon, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder

Thanks for taking time out of your busy life to visit my blog.  I truly appreciate it.

Everything Eleanor and Clay Flowers

The Everything Eleanor stamp set is one of my favourites, it is so versatile .....

Here is used the swirly stamp to make a "branch" for the Simply Pressed Clay flowers.  I coloured the clay with some Crisp Cantaloupe ink before I made the flowers.  It leaves the flowers quite subtle, so then I just thumped the Calypso Coral marker on the top of the flowers to add some colour variation.

Stamps:  Everything Eleanor, Create A Cupcake
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral Marker
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Pistachio Pudding
Other:  Fancy Fan and Argyle Embossing Folders, Simply Pressed Clay and Flower Mold, Word Window Punch

Have you tried the Simply Pressed Clay and the molds that go with it?  They are so simple and easy to use.  You will never have to worry about running out of an embellishment when you use the clay and molds, cuz all you have to do is make more!

Framed Flowers Card

Using the Best of Flowers stamp set again today ....

With the new Magnetic Platform, using the Stampin' Up! Framelits Dies is so much easier.  The platform is not available at the moment, but as soon as Stampin' Up! gets another shipment, they will be again.  I was so lucky to get mine way back in May, and I can't tell you how much I use this baby.  I will give you more info on it below ....
This card uses the Apothecary Arts Framelits Die with one of the Ovals Framelits dies nestled in the center.  I cut them both out at the same time!  This flower is one of the special ones available in the Best Of 25 Years stamp sets which are being released at the beginning of each month all year long.  This one is May's set, and includes the Hydrangea stamp that I used a few days ago.  The background Pink Pirouette layer is embossed with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.

Stamps:  Best Of Flowers, Petite Pairs
   Ink:  Strawberry Slush, Midnight Muse
Paper:  Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush
Other:  Apothecary Arts Framelits Dies, Oval Framelits Dies, Modern Mosaic EF, Basic Pearls

This card was surprisingly quick and easy to do.  Specially when I used the Magnetic Platform.  Here is some information on the platform . . . . .

Wildflowers and Butterflies Card

I received this card in a card swap in the spring with the VanIsle Group - a group of demonstrators who live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.  We get together twice a year and have our own Regional Events.

This card was created by Karen Vanderberg.  Obviously she is very talented!  I love how she used the corner rounder punch on 2 corners of each piece and put them together so they look like a flower.  An Antique Brad in the center just finishes it off.
To do the sentiment, you have to stamp it first before you run it through the Big Shot and the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  The slotches behind the flowers and butterfly are done using the now retired Colour Spritzer.  But you could use one of the Stampin' Spritzers still available - pg 164 Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue - Item #126185 - $3.95 for pkg of 2 spritzers - and some rubbing alcohol and Old Olive reinker.  Would do the same thing!

Stamps:  Curly Cute, Summer Silhouettes, Papillion Potpourri
Ink:  Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze,Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Whisper White, Old Olive, StazOn
Other:  Fancy Fan EF, Sponge, Corner Rounder Punch, Stampin' Spritzer or Colour Spritzer (R), Antique Brad, Elegant Butterfly Punch

And, if you don't have a corner rounder punch, and would like to get something that will do double duty to stretch your budget dollars, have a look at the new Envelope Punch Board (click on the image to go to the store for more info)   ...

See that light brown oval button on the top?  That is a corner rounder (on the top side and the punch out for the envelopes on the bottom side)!!!!  Whoooo hooo, no more having to carry two tools, this one does both for you.  Item #133774 - $24.95 (plus S&H and tax)!

Best Of Flowers Thank You Card

Each month in 2013 Stampin' Up! releases a special selection of stamps called Best Of 25 Years.  This is the March 2013 set - Best Of Flowers ...

I decided to use the Hydrangea stamp from the set to create some Thank You cards for customers who place orders with me.  I used Wisteria Wonder ink and cardstock for this card.

Stamps:  Best Of Flowers, Apothecary Art
   Ink:  Wisteria Wonder, StazOn
   Paper:  Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder
   Other:  Finishing Touches Edgelits

Want to own one of my cute Thank You cards for your very own?  All you need to do is place an order through me, or online and designate me as your Demonstrator, and I will send one off to you!

Floral Cased Card

A card with a bit of a different edging to it ....

When I saw this on Connie Babberts blog I stopped what I was doing and created it right away.  I love how she used the Adorning Accents Edgelits on the right hand side of this card.  It allows a strip of DSP to peak through from the inside.  This card uses some Sale-A-Bration products (stamp set and DSP), but you could easily re-create it with any DSP and the Flower Shop stamp set and matching Pansy Punch.

   Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous, Word Play
   Ink:  Calypso Coral, Island Indigo
Paper:  Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo, Sycamore Street DSP
Other:  Adorning Accents Die, Adorning Accents EF, Blossom Punch, Soda Pop Top (R), 1" Circle Punch, Basic Pearls

This one is going off to a friend and her hubby who are in need of some cheering up right now.  Then I think I will re-create it with current Stampin' Up! products.  Hmmmm  maybe a Christmas card?????

Tilda With Love - Magnolia Stamp with Stampin' Up! supplies!

Every once in a while I feel the need to colour.  That is when I pull out my Magnolia Stamps and have fun ...

The stamp is called "Tilda With Love".  I stamped her in StazOn onto Stampin' Up! Watercolour Paper.  She is coloured using Stampin' Write Markers and some Cherry Cobble Dazzling Details added for a bit of bling.  The dies to cut out the floral border with a Memory Box die and the beaded oval one in the back is from Nestability.  I used the Stampin' Up! Oval Frames (#4) to cut out Tilda after she was coloured. Sometimes you just want to get back to your childhood, and this colouring does it for me.

   Stamps:  Tilda With Love (Magnolia)
   Ink:  StazOn
Markers (for colouring):  Raspberry Ripple, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom (R)
Other:  Twirling Vine Frame (Memory Box), Beaded Ovals (Nestabilities), Oval Die #4 (Stampin' Up!),  Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Basic Rhinestones

I will be back with more projects tomorrow.  Happy Stampin' ...

Dressed Up With A Sweater

Dressed Up Die, and I added a sweater to compliment it ....

This is another cased card that I found on Pinterest and did not write down the original artist!  So sorry.  I love how this die set (Dress Up Framelits - Pg 187 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, Item #130101 - $30.95) is so versatile.  It has 2 different dresses and the dress frame.  I've shared with you a lot of the cards I already created using this die set, and here is another one.  This uses some free designer series paper I acquired during Sale-A-Bration, and the Vine Street Embossing Folder which was exclusively available during SAS.  I love it and still use it every once in a while.  Whoo hooo  only 4 months left until SAB 2014 begins!!!

   Stamps:  Pretty Petires
   Ink:  Calypso Coral
Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Pool Party, Sycamore Street DSP
Other:  Vine Street EF, Basic Rhinestones, Petite Curly Label Punch (this was also a SAB item, but they put it into the new Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue on page 181 - Item #129405 - $15.95) if you missed it during SAB.

Well, I think it is time for another awesome weekend.  I hope you have a great one as well.  I am sure ours will involve some quality Grandsons Time!!!

Petite Pocket Thank You card - cased

Time for another "cased" card to share. CASED means Copy And Share with Everyone!

I cased this from Patty Bennett for a Hostess for one of my Workshops (Hi Betty!).   The flowers are made out of the Filter Paper Stampin' Up! carries in it's Annual Catalogue.  HERE is a link to a tutorial on Patty's blog on how to make the flowers and the card holder itself.  You could make this into a gift card holder, what a pretty birthday gift that would make!

Stamps:  Blooming Marvelous, Blooming' With Kindness
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Paper:  Calypso Coral (yahoo still available even after these In Colours retired), Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Summer Smooches DSP
Other:  Petite Pocket Die (R but you could just hand cut your cardstock), Bird Punch, Petite Butterfly punch, Champagne Mist Spritz (R), Basic Pearls, Filter Paper, Stampin' Spritzer, Floral Framelits dies, Secret Garden Dies, 70% Rubbing Alcohol

Such a pretty card and there is so much you can do with the Filter Paper (Item #129393 - $3.95 - pg 156 Annual Catalogue).  Did you know, no matter how wet this paper gets, it will never break down????  Gotta love that!

Swallowtail Stamp - Stampin' Up!

An awesome, sparkley card for you today, using the Swallowtail Stamp and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (retired) by Stampin' Up! ....

First you ink up the Swallowtail stamp with VersaMark and stamp it on Pool Party cardstock (aren't you soooo glad Stampin' Up! kept this awesome colour when it retired as an In Colour????).  Then use White Embossing Powder to make it pop from the cardstock.  Make sure it is dry and using an Aqua Painter very, very, lightly paint some of the Champagne Shimmer Paint over top of the butterfly (have water in the barrel of the Aqua Painter and pick up a small amount of the paint with the wet tip).  Using a kleenex or paper towel, lightly rub over the butterfly and this will remove any residual paint from on top of the embossed areas.  It will be sticky if you don't do this step.  Also, make sure you use very little paint, because if you get too much it will look brown and dirty.  Usually "you can never have too much bling" but in this instance, "a little is better".  I am going to miss the Shimmer Paints, but I "may have" purchased extra when the retiring list came out in May!!!  LOL

Stamps:  Swallowtail, Fabulous Phrases, Petite Pairs
   Ink:  VersaMark, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pool Party
Other:  Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (R), Aqua Painter, Jewelry Tag Punch, Small Facetted Button, 1/16" Punch

I am hoping to get back into a regular blogging cycle again.  This summer has been so awesome, but now it is time to buckle down!  Back in March we re-purchased our cabin on a local lake, that we sold over 21 yrs ago.  The owners decided to sell, and we had "reserved" first refusal.  Well, it was not a refusal at all when they called us.  Now we are the oh so proud owners of our little bit of paradise on the lake again. It is a float cabin, which means it is anchored off shore a bit.  It is ugly from the outside, but cute and retro on the inside.

Here is a picture for you ....

And this is how I like to spend my time up there ....

Yup, that's me floating around!  LOL   We need to do some work on it, as nothing was done during the time we did not own it.  This year we spent some time upgrading some of the interior, and next year we will be replacing the boards on the deck.  Oh so peaceful and quiet as there is no internet, no cell service, no phones, no electricity, and it is boat access only!!!!

Hope you have a great week and Happy Stampin' ....

Angry Birds Punch Art Card

While I was away this year waiting in airports I became addicted to Angry Birds on my cell phone.  I had to stop myself when we got home, however, boy can time fly when you are playing that game.

Here is a card I made using all of the Angry Birds images.  I did see a similar card on the internet somewhere, but I made this so long ago I can't remember.

And here is the inside of the card that uses the other two images ....

I just love making punch images and these were super fun to do.  Now that I know what Angry Birds is all about, I understand the images!

   Stamps:  Woodgrain background, Stitched Birthday
Ink:  Bashful Blue, Early Espresso, StazOn
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso
Other:  non SU punch, Word Window punch, Scallop Circle punch (template for clouds), sponge

And here is a picture of how to make the punch images ....

Hope you can read my writing!  If not, email me.

All Dressed Up - Spanish Inspired

Once again I have a card created with the Dress Up Dies by Stampin' Up! ....

This card was inspired by a card I saw that belonged to Kris McIntosh.  It was on Kim Score's blog.

    Stamps:  A Word For You
   Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Pool Party Co'ordinations, Cherry Cobbler
Other:  Finishing Touches die, Honeycomb EF, Dress Up die, Delicate Designs EF, Large Scallop Die, Whisper White Stitched GG Ribbon, Flower Trim (R), 1" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones

I love the Spanish influence in it, but wanted to do something a bit different.  So this is the one I came up with ...

I turned the fan into a flower (now doesn't that sound like an Orville Redenbacher advertisement????)  There are so many different looks you can do with this set of dies.  What have you done????

   Stamps:  A Word For You
   Ink:  Raspberry Ripple
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Pool Party Co'ordinations, Raspberry Ripple
Other:  Finishing Touches die, Honeycomb and Fancy Fan EF, Dress Up die, Delicate Designs EF, Large Scallop Die, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Flower Trim (R), 1'1/4 and 7/8" Scallop Circle punches, Basic Rhinestones, Raspberry Ripple Dahlia Embellishment

Now go stamp something!!!  LOL  Hope you have a fabulous day ......
