Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop - April 2011

Here we are again on the 25th of the month, doing our monthly Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop.  Welcome to my blog.  If you arrived here from Danielle Champagne's blog, you are on the right track.  If not, and you would like to start at the beginning, click on THIS LINK to return you to the beginning of the hop.
My card for you today uses So Heavenly Tilda from the 2008 So Heavenly, Travel and School Collection.  You do not need to have one of the images from a Christmas collection to create a Christmas card.  I also used the Silent Night background from the 2008 Santa collection.
Here is my card for you ....

I brayered the Whisper White cardstock background with Cherry Cobbler, then Bravo Burgundy and finally Chocolate Chip.  Then I distressed all the edges, then really got into the vintage thing and ripped and tore a whole lot.  Then I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink again.  Then I stamped the Silent Night backgrround stamp in Basic Black.  That is layered onto Basic Black cardstock on an Always Artichoke card base.
I stamped So Heavenly Tilda on Irridescent Cryogen paper and coloured her with Copic Sketch markers.  Then I cut her out.  I used Diamond Stickles on her wings and a White Sharpie Poster Pen for the dots on her nightie.  When I put her on the card, she blended in too much, so I put a Whisper White oval behind her.  I think it kind of looks like she is in the moonlight.

Here is a closer view of the ribbon treatment ....

And the sentiment.  I also brayered this piece of Whisper White cardstock, then adding some Basic Rhinestones for a bit of bling....
And finally the inside of the card - I used some Deck The Halls DSP (now retired) from Stampin' Up!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except for the image, the image paper, and the colouring.
Thanks for visiting and hopping along on our blog hop.  Your next stop is Jessica Hammond's blog, I know she will have a super cute creation for you today.
Happy Stampin' ......................

Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop - February 2011

Welcome back to another Christmas All Year Long blog hop featuring Magnolia Stamps.  If you have arrived here from Danielle's blog you are on the right track.  If not, HERE is the link back to the start at the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long blog and start at the beginning.  You don't want to miss any of these darling creations.
I used Wrapped Tilda (2009 So Jolly So Snowy Collection) and put her sitting on top of the Sugar Bag (2010 Raise the Ceiling / Right Through My Heart Collection).  I wanted to go all white so that the Tilda image pops out at you.  I did end up putting a bit of colour on the card, but I don't think it takes away from the image at all ......
I used mostly Stampin' Up! supplies for this card - the cardstock, the ribbon, the embossing folders, the punch, the pearls, and the beads.  Here is an up close look at the coloured image (coloured with Copics - I will list them at the end of this post).....
I used Suzanne Dean's tip of putting a warm gray over top of the red to make it less bright and I love the result.  I used some red Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink to the flower centers on the layer I embossed with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder, you can see them a bit in this picture. And a closer look at the ribbon and bead treatment on the left hand side of the card ....
I generated the sentiment on my computer and punched it out with the Stampin' Up! Jewelry Tag punch, of course I had to add a pearl to the top where they intersect, it just needed it!  I also added LOTS and LOTS of pearls to this card.  Some of them are from the Pretties Kit (now retired) and some are Basic Pearls.  The beads are from the Pretties Kit and the pearl headed stick pin I bought somewhere, but can't remember where.
There are 3 layers on the cardfront of this card, and I spritzed all layers with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spritz (make with 70% Rubbing Alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint).  I also distressed the first layer on the outside, and the inside layer.  Oh lala, talk about bling!  I tried to take a picture of it, but as usual it does not show up very well, but here's the picture anyways ....
The inside is also white, I did not add any sentiment as I will do that when I decide who will adopt this card at Christmas time ...
And this is the top page of the inside, I puched out some snowflakes on Stampin' Up! Shimmer White cardstock using the Northern Frost decorative strip die ....

Of course I had to add pearls to the inside of this card as well.
Stamps: Magnolia - Wrapped Tilda, Sugar Bag
Ink:  Memento Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, XPress Blending paper (images stamped on)
Colouring:  Copic Sketch Markers
Other:  Embossing Folders - Petals-A-Plenty, Northern Flurry; White Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Pretties Kit (retired), Red Smooch Paint, Jewelry Tag Punch, Distress Tool, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Frosted Lace Stickles, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Sharpie White Poster Pen

Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop - November 2010

Welcome to the last Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop, it is November 25th and that means an awesome Blog Hop!  If you arrived from Cheryl Rowley's blog, you are on the right track.  If not pop on over to Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long Blog and start at the beginning, you don't want to miss any of these magnificent creations.  I am honoured to be in a Blog Hop with all these talented crafters,
My creation for this month features "Tilda With Violin" and "Silent Night Background" stamps.  Here is the front of my card:

I used all Stampin' Up! supplies except for the Tilda and background stamp.  I stamped Silent Night on Very Vanilla cardstock in Basic Black.  The layer with the leaves punched out is Very Vanilla and the leaf punch I used is a Fiskars, I punched up each side of the Very Vanillla Layer.  Then I used a layer of retired Stampin' Up! DSP in Rich Razzleberry, which is the colour of the card base.  For Violin Tilda I stamped her in Basic Black on SU Watercolour Paper and heat set it with my heat tool.  Then I used Stampin' Write Markers and an Aqua Pen to colour her (I will include the colours at the end of this post).  I put some Star Dust Stickles on her wings, and Crystal Effects on her shoes (what little girl does not love black patten leather shoes).
For the flower, I saw somewhere on the internet where a talented stamper had used the Stampin' Up! set "French Foliage" to make a poinsettia flower.  So that's what I did ....

I inked the leaf stamp in Rich Razzleberry and stamped it 11 times on Whisper White cardstock (you could also use Shimmery White).  I used an Aqua Painter and coloured the "center" of the flower petals, then put them together in the flower shape.  I used another French Foliage stamp for the leaves, and stamped them in Old Olive onto Old Olive cardstock, then I spritzed them liberally with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz - ooh lala, the bling!  The bow is made from Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, also Stampin' Up!  I assembled the card and embellishments, then went to work on the flower with more Star Dust Stickles.  When those dried I added lots of SU Basic Pearls in the centre, and one on the center of the bow.  Tilda is popped up on Dimensionals.  Here is an up close picture of Violin Tilda ... ... ...

And for the inside I used the leaf punch again, and a stamp from Bells and Boughs set in Old Olive.  I used some Magenta Stickles for the holly berries.  The sentiment is also Stampin' Up! and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

Now for the colours I used for Miss Tilda:
Dress - Rich Razzleberry
Shoes - Basic Black
Skin - Blush Blossom
Cheeks - Pretty In Pink
Hair - So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Close To Cocoa
Violin - Creamy Caramel, Close To Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Thanks for hoppin' by today, the next stop on the Blog Hop is Jessica Hammond.  I know you will love what she has awaiting for you.  Have a super day, and Happy Stampin' ....  Glenda Mollet

Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop - September

It's the 25th of the month, and that means another Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop using Magnolia images.  It's also a great way to get some Christmas Cards done for very special people!
If  you arrived from Deb Zachrich's blog, you are on the right track.  If not, go back to the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long blog and start at the beginning to see all the great creations.
My card this month uses Edwin as Santa's Helper.  This is one of the cards I created for my new class "Magnolia Monday" where I am showing stampers different methods of colouring using Stampin' Up! Markers, Water Colour Crayons, etc.  It is also Mojo Monday #155 sketch.
Enough already, here is my card.... .... .... ....
All supplies, except the stamped image and the Stickles, are Stampin' Up!  I used  the new Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper for the striped piece, the scallop oval piece, and the presents piece on the top.  It has red bling on the stripes!  Whisper White, Garden Green and Real Red are the cardstock colours I used.  Edcwin is sitting on a stripe of Real Red Satin Ribbon.  I used the Tag and Small Tag punches to punch out for the sentiment, then I did not have one to fit it.  So I just hand wrote in the sentiment I wanted.  Two of the new Glimmer Brads in the top corners finish off the card.  I love all the new blingy products in the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue, oh my!!!
Edwin is stamped in StazOn ink, on Water Colour Paper, and coloured in with Stampin' Write Markers and an Aqua Pen.  Then I used lots of Star Dust Stickles on the fur parts of his costume.
Here is a closer picture of Edwin.....

Thanks for joining our Blog Hop today.  Your next stop is  Jessica Hammond, and I know she has a fabulous card all ready for you.
Happy Stampin' .... .... .... .... Glenda Mollet

Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop

I created this card a while ago for this month's Magnolia-Licioius Christmas All Year Long blog hop.  If you arrived from Cheryl Rowley's blog, then you are on the right track, if not HERE is the link to the Magnolia-Licious Blog where you can find the start, as well as a list of all of the participants.
I love having the kick in the butt each month to create a Christmas card. This is only the third hop I have participated in, but at least now I have 3 Christmas cards done for December.  Maybe that is long enough for me to be able to adopt them out to special people by then, I have issues you see!!!
Here is my card............
I used some retired designer paper - Le Jardin.  It has River Rock and Always Artichoke in it and I love how they co-ordinate with Cherry Cobbler.  These will be fabulous colours at Christmas, I can't wait!.  I used a layout from the latest MagnoliaINK magazine - page 52 by Claudia.  These were layered onto the Cherry Cobbler with Basic Black mats.  There is a strip of Cherry Cobbler I punched on both sides with a MS punch, then put some Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon on it, but you can't see it very well.  Sparkling Tilda was stamped on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then I coloured them with Copic Markers (I will list them all at the end of the post).  I punched out a scallop circle of Whisper White cardstock and hand wrote the sentiment on it using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker.  This whole section is popped up using Dimensionals and layed on slightly crooked.  The Poinsettia stamp was stamped on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock 8 times plus once more for the inside.  I coloured these in Copics as well.  Two of them I actually cut out the top most petals and layered them on top of other coloured images.  These were attached to the card and some branches and leaves from the XL 2 Step Bird Punch in Whisper White and Always Artichoke were added.  The centres of the flowers were coloured in yellows then I added some Diamon Stickles over top.  The last leaf of each branch had a clear rhinestone added to it.  Then I added some deep red half-back pearls to the corners of the Tilda image and all around the sentiment piece.  The bow on the envelope, Tilda's Wings and her halo have Diamond Stickles as well.  Here is an up close picture of Tilda and the Envelope.............
and here is an up close of the Poinsettias.................

and here is a picture of the inside.................

and closer................
and here is a list of the Copics I used:

Skating Edwin and Tilda - Magnolia card

UPDATE:
Welcome to February's Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop by Magnolia-licioius! If you arrived here from Deb's blog, you are on the right track. If not HERE is the start of the hop.
This is my original post for my entry.........

Another Magnolia card for you today. This card was a challenge to do. I coloured the images, then set to work to create the card. But the colours and papers I had planned to use just were not working. So I just walked away from it overnight and thought about reconstruction. This morning I hit my craft room with a completely different image in my head. New colours and a new layout! Ah Ha!!

Here is the result:

I used the retired Stampin' Up! designer paper - Soft Sky. I love this colour and have been "hoarding" it since it retired. It was perfect for the soft look I was going for. When I coloured Edwin and Tilda I did an experiment. I am still trying to decide between colouring light to dark or dark to light. So Edwin's pants are coloured light to dark, and Tilda's coat is coloured dark to light. I can't see any difference at all in the technique. Here is an up close picture of the two skaters:

I used the Pond/Park background stamp in behind them, cut with the coluzzle. Then I cut the biggest oval on the coluzzle out of Whisper White and distressed it and put it behind the pond oval. I painted some Crystal Effects on the pond part of the background stamp with a paint brush, then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter while it was wet. The snowflakes are from the Stampin' Up! Jumbo Snowflake punch with some snowflake brads and a tree in the middle. I added 1/4" circles punched and some Baby Blue Stickles in the middle of each snowflake brad to jazz them up a bit. I ran a strip of Whisper White Organza ribbon around the middle. The sentiment is on a piece of glimmery dark blue paper (source unknown) punched with the Designer Label punch with Whisper White punched with the Large Oval punch on top. The inside is very plain compared to most of the Magnolia cards out there, but I don't like my insides too decorated (yet!! haha). Here's the inside:

Here is a list of the Copic colours I used:
Edwin and Tilda:
Blues: B91, B95, B97, and B24 on the mittens only
Yellows: Y11, Y13, Y15
Fur parts: C1, C3, B97 for some blue highlights
Hair: Y11, Y21, E97, E99
Skin: E00, E000, E0000
Cheeks: R20, R21, R30
Park/Pond:
Snow: C1, C3, B91
Trees: YG63, YG67
Lightstand: C1, C3, B97 Light: Y17
Bench Frame: c1, c3
Bench Slats: E11, E33, E35, E37
Path: W3, E35, E37
I am very limited in the range of colours I have, I would liked to have had a darker gray and darker brown, but not this time.
Thanks so much for looking, I am off now to clean up my craft room and start the next project.
Oops I got the wrong next step in the blog hop, sorry, HERE is the correct link to the next blog in the hop, Jenn Koss!!
