Easy Layout with 1" Squares and the Wild Fern Bundle – A Gorgeous Way to Use Up Designer Paper Scraps

In Monday's live stamping demonstration, I shared a card made with the beautiful Wild Fern bundle that turns 1" squares of paper into a layout that’s clean, classy, and so much fun to make. The Wild Fern bundle brings such soft elegance to your projects, and I love how it pairs with the gentle palette I used—white, subtle blues, and a mix of pretty greens. Turn Scraps into Stunning! A Delightful Wishes Card You Need to Try

Let’s talk scraps. We all have them. Those little strips of gorgeous patterned paper that are too pretty to toss but never seem to have a purpose. Well, my friends, that ends today! Monday night, I had the absolute pleasure of demonstrating a beautiful card featuring the Delightful Wishes bundle—and get this—I used leftover strips of Floral Delight patterned paper to create something truly stunning.

This card design wasn’t my own brilliant idea. Nope! I received this beauty in a swap from the talented Tamara Bertram, and it was too good not to share. So, of course, I had to put my own spin on it and show you exactly how to make it. If you’ve ever wondered what to do with those extra paper scraps, this technique is going to change your crafting game.

The Delightful Wishes bundle makes it effortless to add elegant details, and when paired with the vibrant colors of the Floral Delight paper, the result is pure magic. The best part? No two cards will ever look the same because every set of leftover strips will create a totally unique design. Master the Pretty Pleats Technique with a Fun Fold Twist

 Hi Friends

Hold onto your crafting hats because I’ve got a card that’s about to pleat your socks off! Last Wednesday during my Facebook Live, we dove headfirst into the fabulous Mixed Florals bundle to create a fun fold card that’s as sassy as it is stunning. And the pièce de résistance? The Pretty Pleats designer paper technique. Yes, we took paper folding to a whole new level, and trust me, you’re going to want in on this.

Let’s talk about this card. It’s not just a card; it’s a moment. The Mixed Florals bundle gave us a dreamy canvas of blooms, while the Pretty Pleats technique added that irresistible texture and dimension. Imagine opening a card and being greeted with perfectly folded designer paper that practically says, “I’m fancy, and I know it.” That’s what we’re working with here.

Now, if you’ve ever looked at pleated designs and thought, “Oh no, that’s too advanced for me,” I’m here to tell you that’s nonsense. On our live stream, we broke it down step-by-step, and guess what? Nobody cried. There were no paper casualties. Just a lot of, “Oh my gosh, this is amazing!”

The color palette? Think vibrant spring tones with pops of sophistication. The Mixed Florals stamps and dies practically begged to be paired with the pleats, creating a look that’s elegant and playful all at once. And because I can’t resist a good pun, the sentiment was perfection—a cheeky nod to the bloom-filled design.

I may have also shared some tips and tricks for getting those pleats just right (and how to fix them if your first try looks more “wrinkled laundry” than “chic design”). Spoiler alert: patience and a good bone folder are your best friends. Oh, and don’t even think about skipping the video tutorial linked below. Watching it is like having a personal crafting cheerleader—aka me.

Creating quick and easy cards that let the Patterned Paper shine!

 Hi Friends!

Sometimes designer paper (aka patterned paper) is made to be the star of a card.

This sheet of Sentimental Christmas paper is one of those.

All I did was cut the 12x12 sheet down to 4 pieces 6x6, then cut one of those down to 5-1/4 x 4 and used some of the left over on the inside of the card.

I added some of the elusive Read Red & White Peppermint embellishments (they are supposed to be back in stock the week of November 18th) and a sentiment and the card is done!

This is just one of the 12 patterns in this amazing package of paper. And $4 of each package sold is donated to support Children's Literacy in the country it is purchased in. What a wonderful initiative, Stampin' Up!
