Hello Friends!
When Stampin' Up! announced they were bringing the Stampin' Blends back, I was so excited! I have been colouring with Alcohol Markers for a few years now. I am not a big one for colouring, but using these markers makes it so calming.
I have had a few of my customers comment "I don't really like colouring, but colouring with these markers is a lot of fun". They also are coming around to colouring.
The first rule of using any alcohol marker is to use the proper paper. Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White has been a favourite of alcohol marker artists for a long time. The second rule is use the correct ink. You have to use a water based ink, not alcohol based. Memento ink (also available in the Stampin' Up! catalogue) is the correct ink, but you can also use a few of the Stampin' Up! colours as well. Just try the marker/ink combination of your choice on a scrap of paper first before beginning on your image.
I used the following Stampin' Blends to colour this image:
Light Pink Pirouette
Light and Dark Calypso Coral
Light and Dark Smoky Slate
Bronze (for stamens)
I stamped the image onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured the leaves and buds. Then I stamped it on a separate piece and coloured the maiin image. Then I fussy cut it and popped it over the other image using dimensionals. The sentiment is from You're Inspiring and the dots in the background are also in the Birthday Blooms set.
Smoky Slate 8-1/2 x 5-1/2
Basic Black 4-7/8 x 3-5/8
Whisper White 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 and 3 x 3
