How to create alternative cards from paper pumpkin kit refills to create quick and easy cards

Every week I am invited to spend time with our local Sunshine Club Stamp Crafts, for stamping enthusiasts that are over 50 yrs young.

We make one card together and enjoy the visiting and stamping.

I recently purchased some of the January 2024 paper pumpkin kit refills and came up with these 2 alternative cards. We created one each week and the Ladies loved them.

I often hear "paper pumpkin is not good quality" or "I don't really like paper pumpkin kits" or "paper pumpkin cards are not my style".  Well, the Ladies were suitably impressed with the quality and the fact that you can do alternative projects using the kit contents.

Creating alternative cards with the February 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit - Sweet Springtime - and how you can get free alternate card ideas each month!

Every month I go live in facebook and create with the Paper Pumpkin kit of the month.

The projects are never created as they are designed, I always change them up between a bit and a lot!  Sometimes the journey is long and painful (lol) but most of the time as we get started, and viewers chime in with their suggestions, the cards just fly together.

The February Paper Pumpkin Kit - called Sweet Springtime - was no exception, and I ended up with cards for our Northern Grandchildren when we were done.

Creating alternative cards with the February 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Sweet Springtime. You don't have to create the boxes as designed!

 Hi Friends!

I was finally able to go live on facebook last Tuesday, and create with the February Paper Pumpkin Kit, called Sweet Springtime!

I like to open it online without peeking before hand. Then we go through the bits and bobs, and ideas start to percolate in my mind.

Sometimes I create the projects as designed, and sometime I just head right into some alternative cards. I call that going rogue.

In put is always encouraged from the audience. Sometimes I use their ideas, and some times I don't lol.

Here's the projects we made on Tuesday ....

The first card has a few changes from how it was designed. I added the checkered background and popped up the frame.

This card is totally customized. It was supposed to be a slimline card, but I cut apart the card base, added some sparkly glimmer paper (coming March 5th) and Wink of Stella to the flowers and chicks.

I love this treat holder and will make all 3 of them for my Grandchildren - plus an extra one that I will come up with as we have 4 Grandchildren lol. 

I added some more of the Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper (an online exclusive coming March 5th) and popped up the top of the bunny and chick.

Paper Pumpkin January 2024 Kit called Lovely Lavender, how to create 3 gorgeous alternative cards using elements of the kit.

The January 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit is simply gorgeous!

It coordinates so well with the Perennial Lavender suite from the Spring Mini Catalogue by Stampin' Up!, that you can inter change elements of either one with the other one.

I was live on facebook last week and unboxed and created with the kit.

I usually create the projects as designed, then go on to make an alternative or two, but this time I just could not resist making alternatives right from the start.

The first one ended up as a shaker card ....

Then we created this one using most of the elements as designed, but with a twist or two.....

And finally I took the tag from the kit and created this gorgeous card ...

This kit is amazing and the good news is that you can get refills for this one too! The refill kit includes everything except the Ink Spot and stamp set. But really, you can use any stamp set and the ink spot is Gorgeous Grape.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects PDF - How You Can Get The PDF For Free!

Sorry to be late this week with my "Wednesday" post.

We were up in the northern interior part of British Columbia, Canada, visiting our "Northern Family" for our Grandson's 9th birthday.

All was going well until we had an issue with our truck. It needed some repair work before we could drive it home again (a 12 hour trip).

Thankfully the local diesel repair shop could squeeze us in, and got the truck fixed asap, and we were on our way only a day later than planned.

But this meant my blog post for yesterday did not happen (yes I forgot about doing it too, having too much fun with our Northern Grand Children).

Each month I provide a PDF of alternative projects for my Paper Pumpkin subscribers, or if you purchase only one month, that works too.  It is compiled by a world wide group of amazingly talented artists, and myself, who create alternative projects using the Paper Pumpkin Kits.

This month we shared projects using the November 2023 kit called Warm Wishes, as shown below.

Although this kit was created with treat holders in mind, our talented group of Demonstrators made many alternative cards with the kit.
