Then last night I needed to pray to the sunshine God for a break in the "valley cloud" as they now call it. Huh! I still call it FOG. We get a lot of fog in the winter and sometimes it gets to the point where we go "over the hump" to the other side of Vancouver Island to find some sunshine. So I made this card that I cased from someone long ago - I think it was Lee Conrey.
The original card uses Tangerine Tango, so that tells you how long ago I saved the picture. I used the following in my rendition:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Ink: Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow
Markers: Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango
Cardstock: Whisper White, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow
Other: Crimper, 1" circle punch, sponge dauber, dimensionals
The original card also uses orange and yellow ribbon around the front, but I did not have any that went with the colours I used. So I used a piece of Only Orange cardstock (3/4" wide) first, then took a 3/8" piece of Yoyo Yellow, ran it through the crimper, and put it on top of the orange piece. It ads some texture to the card. The yellow sun has been daubed on with a dauber, yoyo yellow ink, and a mask made with the 1" circle punch. I first inked up the stamp with Only Orange (did not want to use my marker as it was too much area to do), then I used Always Artichoke marker for the stems which turned them brown when mixed with the orange. At the tips of most of the flowers I added some Dusty Durango for contrast.
I left this one blank so I can customize it when I need to share it with someone. It would even make a good sympathy card I think.
Hope you have sunshine in your part of the world today. My prayers, and card, worked. We have sunshine today!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you God of the Sunshine. I truly appreciate it!
Bye for now, off to have some Grandson time........... Glenda Mollet
