With the long retiring list from the Stampin' Up! Annual and Occasions catalogues, I have been making a few cards trying to use up some of the designer series paper that won't be along much longer.
It's not that I want to see it go, but only that I need to make room for some brand new papers! LOL I recently joined the #loveitchopit "movement" to cut designer series paper and use it. No more paper hoarding .... well not as much anyways.
Today's card share uses the Myths & Magic Specialty designer series paper (DSP). The sheets in this package have bling on them, almost all of them. And a card is so much better with bling, don't you agree? I made feminine and masculine versions of the same card ....
And here's the masculine one ...
Each card uses the same base products, with just a few changes. The mermaid one uses some Bermuda Bay products for a colour pop along with the unicorn designer paper. It has bling on each of the colourful unicorns. The wizard card uses more Fresh Fig and some Basic Gray ribbon as the accent colours. I coloured him in Old Olive to make him really stand out.
Each image is coloured with Stampin' Blends. I am so excited that they will be back in stock and availabale to order real soon! And there is some new colours coming in the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The mermaid uses Bermuda Bay (light and dark), Daffodil Delight (light and dark), Ivory (for the skin) and Calypso Coral (light) for the seahorses. The wizard is coloured in Old Olive (light and dark) and Ivory. I used the light Smoky Slate to colour a "shadow" under him so he wasn't floating in air.
I used other stamps from the stamp set to fill in the oval behind the images. The sentiment is stamped once on a small piece of whisper white, then again on a larger piece. I cut out "Magical" with the die from the Magical Mates dies and popped it up over where it was stamped on the smaller piece.

The ribbon I used will also be retiring, along with the Magical Day stamp set, and co-ordinating Magical Mates dies. So glad I got to use these products once more before they disappear.
