Well here we are back after the great Halloween fun. Our local town, Port Alberni BC, has a steam train run by our local Historical Society. During the summer it runs out to the local MacLeans Mill which is a steam mill and National Historic Site. During the rest of the year, it makes various fun themed rides. This past weekend it was the very first Halloween Train Ride out to the mill, then the kids got to trick or treat around the various buildings at the mill. There was a Mummy, hot dogs, crafts and hay rides as well.
My hubby is a Fireman and Engineer on the steam train. Below is a picture of him standing in the cab of the #7 they use for most of the runs. Here is a link to the Western Vancouver Island Industrial Heritage Society on face book. I was lucky enough to ride on the train with our grandchildren and their parents. It was an amazing afternoon. The weather started out rainy, but then the sun came out and the kids had such a great time at the mill. It is one of their very most favourite things in the world to do. Both of their Grampa's work on the train. Lucky Kids!
Anyways, on to my card for today. This is the second card we made in my recent One Day Mini Stampin' Retreat - Christmas Edition ...
I cased this card from Kim Van Dieppen. This is such a cute card, and made even cuter by the use of the Stampin' Up! Home for Christmas designer series paper. The deer and santas in this paper have to be some of the cutest designs I have ever seen on designer paper.
Have a crafty day!
