Sea Of Textures Card Share

Hi Friends!

I have a card to share with you today that is created with the Sea Of Textures bundle.  This bundle consists of the Sea Of Textures stamp set and co-ordinating Under The Seas dies.

This stamp set has the cutest octopus in it!  We have named him "Oliver" the Octopus.  Living on the west coast of BC, Canada (and on the west coast of Vancouver Island) we see water life all the time.  It is difficult to see an octopus in the water because they live way down under the sea. But there are aquariums where you can go and see water "stuff" in real life. They actually go out each spring and bring in samples from the ocean and place them in an aquarium setting that replicates where they live. Then in the fall they return the creatures etc back to the ocean.

CLICK HERE to go to the local aquarium's website.  Here is a picture I found on their website.

Anyhow, back to today's scheduled topic!  LOL

Here is the card I created - I call it an Aquarium Card.

I used the shaker card technique and left out the shaker stuff inside the frame to make it look like Oliver is in an aquarium.  He is sponged with Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron inks.  You have to be very careful not to overlap the colours because they turn to brown if you do!

The background behind Oliver is the emboss resist technique - stamp the sea weed and coral images from the stamp set in versamark ink and use white embossing powder.  I also used the dots from the Waterfront stamp set to add some bubbles at the top.  Once we heated the embossing powder we sponged on some ink.  From the bottom up it is Fresh Fig, Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party at the top.  We also used the Wink Of Stella brush to add some bling to Oliver before we sealed him inside his aquarium.  We added a layer of Tranquil Textures designer paper as well.  The Artisan Pearls finish off the card.  What do you think?????
