Hi Friends!
One of the most asked questions is "How do you store your cardstock?"
This is a common problem in most stamper's craft rooms. We all have lots of cardstock, lots and lots, lol.
How do you store full sheets so they are easy to access?
How do you store half and quarter sheets so you can quickly grab one to use on a project?
How do you store bits and pieces (smaller than quarter sheets) so you don't end up with a huge container full of "stuff" and have to shuffle through it each time you need a small piece of just the right colour?
I have some tips on how I store my cardstock. This is not the only way to do it, but this is what works for me, and has done so for the past 15 years.
Here is a picture of my Cardstock Drawer....
I store full packages of single colour cardstock in Multi Page Capacity Page Protectors.
I put the full pack into the protector including the plastic sleeve that has the colour information on it. I slit the top of the package for easy access.
On one side I store the half and quarter sheets (the side with the label as I don't have to search for a specific size)
On the other side I slip any scrap of that colour. I tend to not keep anything smaller than an inch in one direction to keep down on the scrap overload.
These packages are kept in magazine holders. I can fit 5 packages into each holder. I store them in alphabetical order so I can easily find them.
For the In Colours, I put them in their sets of 5 in between 2 of the holders in different spots. I keep them separate because I am always changing them out and don't want to redistribute the alphabetical organization of our staple colours.
The Basic White, Basic Black and Very Vanilla parts are kept in a different way.
I store the full sheets in multi page protectors alphabetically.
The pre-cut, scored and folded card bases are kept in one basket at the front.
The pre-cut 1/4 page layers are kept in another basket at the front.
The bits and pieces are kept in multi page protectors in the front of the magazine holders as those are the most frequently used ones.
I use an Ikea closet organizing system, called PAX Wardrobe, for all of my Stampin' Up! supplies. I will share more about the rest of my system in future posts.
I hope this will help you organize at least one area of your craft room.
Would you like me to do a video walk through for you?
