Weekly Update and a Card Tutorial

 Hi Friends!

Well we just got back yesterday from a nice long relaxing holiday at our cabin on Powell Lake.

This cabin has quite the history in our family.  We originally purchased it way back in 1988 when our children were in elementary school.

We had to move from Powell River (where the cabin is) and go north when my husband's job was elimited at the local paper mill.  We spent 4.5 years in Kitimat "enjoying" the snow up there. lol

Then we managed to make our way back to the west coast of Vancouver Island in 1997.  A few years later we got back in touch with the people who had purchased our cabin from us and told them if they ever decided to sell, we would like it back.

About 6 years ago they contacted us and said they were ready to sell and were we interested?  Of COURSE!  That decision took about a half a nano second.

Fast forward to 2020.  A lot of restoration work has happened and we are now at the relax and enjoy stage.  Last Thursday we took the local grandsons and our son up for the year end close up the cabin trip. It is always bitter sweet when this happens, but specially this year as we have not been up all summer due to my husband's knee replacement surgery.

We spend 5 days at the cabin and it was wonderful. There is no internet or cell service up there until we put the booster on between 7 and 8 pm at night.  That's it!  No electronics, just sunshine and nature.  We did some swimming and the boys all enjoyed playing the boats (paddle and electric motor) and were never still a second. Here's a picture of the 4 of us doing "the pose"....
