Amazing Scrapbook Making Weekend - Stampin' Up! style

Hello Everyone!

A bit late today, but I was away all weekend making an amazing scrapbook in a class put on by my friend Barb in Comox, and her sidekick Heidi.  There were 4 of us in the class, and boy did we have fun.

Here is a picture of the cover (which I customized a bit)

And this is a picture of the inside of the album.  So many pages, pockets, flaps, and hidden surprises.

We used Timeless Elegance designer series paper from Stampin' Up! as well as Basic Black and Sahara Sand cardstocks - both also from Stampin' Up!

I went into this class as a complete beginner for this type of album.  It is actually the very first scrapbooking class I have ever taken.  I was a bit hesitant at first, but the pure beauty of this album forced me to go outside my comfort zone and sign up for this class.

Barb and Heidi made it so much fun, and their step by step instruction made it very easy to do.  Now I understand the mechanics of this type of album I can't wait to do more of them. I can see me doing another album in the summer at our Tiny House!

Thanks so much for visiting today.  If you would like to order this great Designer Series Paper, or the cardstock, or anything else for that matter just hop on over to my ONLINE STORE where you can place an order.  If you do, please use the Host Code JS6GA9WX and i will send you a surprise along with your hand stamped Thank You card! Unless your order is over $200 (Cdn), because you will qualify for Stampin' Rewards of your own.  I will still send you the special surprise along with your Thank You card.

I would like to apologize for the missing video link from my post on Thursday for the Playful Pals bundle.  It disappeared when the post was published.  I hope it stays there now.

I love hearing from you, please leave me a comment or EMAIL ME directly.

Sneak Peek Friday - Have A Cuppa card

Hello Everyone!

Every Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 am, I volunteer my time at the local seniors club called the Sunshine Club.  These ladies are so much fun!!  They have been inviting me back since sometime in 2008, and it is still the highlight of my week.

Some ladies have been making cards a very long time, and some are brand new to card making.  I love how they open the doors to new comers and make them feel part of the group.  Once a new stamper sits down at one of the tables, I don't have to instruct them very much.  The existing members take over and make sure they make their cards and enjoy themselves.  It can be overwhelming at times, depending on the card we are making, but I hope each of them goes home happy with their accomplishment.

Here is a sneak peek of the Have A Cuppa card we will be making this coming Wednesday morning ....

Why not come and join us if you live in Port Alberni, BC?  I will be back next week with a full picture and list of supplies to make this card.

Balloon Celebration Bendy Card - Stampin' Up!

Hello Everyone!

I totally forgot to do my blog post for today!  Oh well, here we go.

I did a sneak peek last Friday showing the cards we were going to do in my Technique Class on Monday.  The class was Bendy Cards.  We made 2 of them.  Here is the first one we did.

These Bendy cards are so much fun to make, and they fold down flat to go into an envelope for mailing.  I got a tad carried away with all the pieces on this card.  Sometimes I get into the zone when I am creating and completely lose track of the amount of pieces I put on cards.  Sorry, Ladies who came to my class!  It was a bit intense, but the finished card is amazing!!!

Here's a view from above where you can see the Bendy part.

We did two cards in this class, the second one I cased from Nicole Wilson on Pinterest.  Here is a picture of that card made using the Botanical Bundle from Stampin' Up!.

And an aerial view ....

Here is a list of supplies for the Balloon Bendy Card:

Stamps:  Balloon Celebration, Party Wishes
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Memento
Marker:  Mint Macaron, Wink of Stella - Clear
Paper:  Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, Window Sheet
Other:  Balloon, Cupcake, Candle, Washi Label punches

I adhered the Bendy part of the Balloon Bendy card to a regular sized card to make it so it opens like normal and you have room to write your greetings inside.  It worked out well, and still fits into the envelope.

I hope you have a crafty day!  Glenda Mollet

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms ---- an amazing card to share with you ....

Hello Everyone!

I was browsing the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop participants and came across this amazing card by Connie Collins ......

http://www.constantlystamping.com/constantly_stamping/2016/02/artisan-feb-2.html
To be asked to join the Stampin' Up! Artisan Team, you have to be an exceptional papercrafter.  I think this card definitely falls in that category.  The stamp set, Birthday Blooms, is one of my favourites from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, and I love how Connie used it on this card.

Here's a picture of the stamp set from Stampin' Up! ....

Stampin' Up! Honeycomb Happiness Ice Cream Cone card - edited Oops!

Hello Everyone!

Today is my Monthly Stampin' Club.  When we get together we always make 2 projects.

The first one this mnonth is the Northern Lights Technique by Sandi MacIver (click on the picture to go to her blog where she has a great tutorial) ....

http://stampinwithsandi.com/northern-lights-technique-video/

This is such a great technique and makes a wonderful background!

The other project we did today is this cute card made with the Chick Ice Cream Cone (oops!!) image from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set, and one of the new Honeycomb Embellishments ....

I was asked "how am I going to mail this card?"  Well the great thing about these embellishments is that they come flat, and are self-adhesive!  So if you put the embellishment on the card but leave it closed.  You can mail it, and include a little note for the receiver to open it up.  Because it is self adhesive you don't have to include anything else!  Voila, there you go, throught the mail!!

Here's the recipe for this cute card:

Stamps:  Honeycomb Happiness
Ink:  Soft Suede, Watermellon Wonder
Cardstock:
Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11
Mint Macaron 5-1/4 x 4
Whisper White 2-3/8 x 4
Birthday Boutique designer paper 2-1/2 x 4-1/2
Other: Confetti Embossing Folder, Honeycomb Embellishments, Lots of Labels Die #6, Baker's Twine Combo Pack (I used the mint macaron and black twine) hand tied bow

Hope you get a chance to create a card today.  I think a day without making a card is like a day without sunshine!

Stampin' Up! Weekly Deals - Feb 16 to 22, 2016 and New Sale-A-Bration products!

Hello Everyone!

Today Stampin' Up! released the Weekly Deals for the next week. You can save 25% off some great products, but only until Mon Feb 22nd.  Here's this weeks offerings ....

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=110100&dbwsdemoid=2028928
These punches and the Envelope Punch Board are 3 of my most used tools.  The pansy punch co-ordinates with the Flower Shop stamp set, and the Bitty Butterfly Punch co-ordinates with Papillon Potpourri stamp set along with other ones.  The Envelope Punch Board makes envelopes of course, to fit almost any sized card, but it also makes boxes and other 3 D items.  Click on the picture above to go to my ONLINE STORE to place your order.  Please use the Hostess Code CGUH464W when placing your order, and I will send you one of my hand stamped greeting cards as a Thank You.  If you place an order of $60 or more, you will also qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item.

Here is a picture of a card I made that uses both the Bitty Butterfly and Pansy punches.  You can tell from this card how well the Pansy punch (the middle flower) pairs with the Fun Flower and Petite Petals punches.

Stampin' Up! retired 3 items from the brochure, but they have also added 3 more - Party Pants stamp set, Pedal Pusher stamp set and Metallic Glitter tape.  Can't wait to get my hands on this amazing tape!  Such promise is ways to use it.  I bet the white one can be coloured any colour you want!!!

Well, friends, time to get back to creating!  Please EMAIL ME if you have any questions, concerns or comments.  Or if you would like to place an order and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Customer Thank You cards

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  My husband, Ted, and I did a day trip to Ucluelet, BC which is on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island.  It was time to see some crashing waves and do a bit of storm watching.  We walked the Wild West Coast Trail, and saw some great wave action.  There were lots of people out walking despite the very light rain.  The rain was light, but the drops off the trees were not light, specially when they dropped right down my neck.
Then we had lunch at the Black Rock Resort.  Their dining room looks right out onto the crashing waves.  It was amazing food, and watching the waves from inside was not so bad either!

Each order I receive from customers gets a hand stamped Thank You card from me.  The local customers get 3" x 3" cards in with their orders, and if they are out of town, they get regular sized cards (because we can't mail 3 x 3 cards here in Canada).

I would like to share some of my recent ones with you today. I really enjoy making these mini cards, which is good because I make a LOT of them each month!  Each set of orders get a different card, so sometimes I make 7 or 8 different cards each month, and each card can be made quite a few times depending on how many customers ordered that week.

I would love to send you one of my hand stamped cards as well!  All you have to do is place an order by EMAILING ME or through my ONLINE STORE and designate me as your demonstrator, don't forget to say YES to "Allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information" at the bottom of the "My Demonstrator" section of your online account profile.  This way I will see your address and be able to send you a thank you card.  Don't worry, this does not mean you will be on my email list, nor will you get ANY correspondence from me besides your thank you card. Here's a picture of that part of your profile ....

I will be spending the day In My Craft Room creating more cards.  Did I mention how much I LOVE MY "JOB"!!!  Yes I spend a lot of time in my craft room, but when I want to take time off to do family stuff with my husband, or our Grandchildren or Children, I can!

#imbringingbirthdaysback Campaign! Get Onboard ...

A new campaign has started to bring back sending birthday cards.  Not just a message in facebook, or an email. This is for real, tangible, put in snail mail cards.  Isn't that wonderful?

Shannon West from Stampin' Up! has started this campaign, and it has taken off!

Here is a video of Shannon and Donna Williams, both from Stampin' Up!, explaining the campaign and sharing some quick and beautiful cards ....

I am also expanding my list of birthday cards to send out.  Right now I send about 8 - 11 cards per month. Some are birthday, some are thinking of you, some are thank you, and some are just because.

Why don't you try sending a few cards as well?  I can help you with all the card making supplies you will need to make amazing cards.  You can go HERE to my online store and place your order yourself.  Or, you can EMAIL ME and I would be happy to place the order for you.

Once you create your cards, just address them, and pop them into the mail.  I remember back when we used to get letter and cards in the mail all the time, and how much I enjoyed it.  It really does brighten the day for the recipient.

If you email me your full name, birthday date, and address, I will put you on my birthday card list too!

Our Tiny House Then and Now Project Life Scrapbook - #5

Hello Everyone!
Here are the final 2015 pictures from my Project Life by Stampin' Up! scrapbook of our Tiny House (aka cabin).  Our Tiny House is a float house, which means water access only.  It is 20 minutes up the lake and so far away from everything.  We have no electricity, cell service, or internet.  Because I have to keep my business going while we are up there, we purchased a cell booster and battery power.  So now we can link up our cell phones in the evening for an hour or so just to keep in touch.
It is so quiet, you don't hear any man made sounds at all, and the evening skies are amazing with the stars you can see.  We often sit out and watch for falling stars and satellites.
Now, on with the show ......

Here we are doing renos on the "poop deck" which is at the back.  We sit out there and have breakfast every morning.

Ahhh, this was the most amazing day of the whole 3 years.  The new composting toilet!  No more hauling around port-a-potties (which was the original one from way back when we owned the cabin before!).  Life is GOOD.  Lol

And a new fridge that works and keeps things cold.  So cool !!!

The following picture is not part of the Tiny House scrapbook, but it is some pictures I had laying around that I felt the need to put into a page.  This is hubby, Ted, and I from then (1977 the beginning) and now (well almost, it was 2012).

I hope you have enjoyed this journey from then until now and the renovations of our Tiny Cabin.  There are still some projects to do, and we have been planning all winter.  I can't wait to get back up there soon and start enjoying the serenity again.

Our Tiny House Then and Now Project Life Scrapbook - #4

Hi again.  After a few days of card sharing, I am back with pictures of my Project Life by Stampin' Up! scrapbook from our Tiny House - aka cabin.
Here are some 2015 pages. In 2014 we re-decked the float, did some renos inside, and made a propane locker.  In 2015 we did some smaller decking areas (we call it the "poop deck" hahaha a left over from our sailing days), and the best thing of all, a new composting toilet.  Yes, it is the little things that make me happy!

Hmmm seems I still have one picture to add to this page!

Yes, I spend a LOT of time in the water.  It is so clear that you can see down about 20-25 feet to the bottom!

New kitchen cupboard courtesy of our friend Tom and Cindy.  And new flooring in one half of the cabin!

We had the most annoying Loons this year. There was two of them and they kept squeeling and squeeling.  They sounded like dogs in pain.  Very un-nerving.

We had so much fun again in 2015, despite the heat.  There were a few days when the thermometer on the front deck pinned at the highest temperature which was 50 deg C!
One more post coming with the remaining 2015 pictures that I have done. Still more to do, but that will come when we head back up there in May.

Timeless Butterfly cased card

Hello everyone!  Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you have had a great week so far.
Here is the card I have to share with you today .....

I cased this from Sandi MacIver over at Stampin With Sandi.
I love all of the cards Sandi makes, and I case a lot of them.  This one is so beautiful with the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.  I don't know what I will do in June when this paper retires.  Guess I better make good use of it until then!
I used Basic Black and Very Vanilla cardstock along with the designer paper, and a bit of Gold Foil paper adds the bling to it.  The Gold Thread adds some sophistication and elegance, as does the simple sentiment (from Cottage Greetings stamp set) that is embossed in white embossing powder.  There is a vellum butterfly under the gold one to add some depth.

Our Tiny House Then and Now Project Life Scrapbook - #3

Hi everyone!  Here is the second half of my Project Life by Stampin' Up! scrapbook pages from our Tiny House (aka cabin) in 2014 ....

See the scrapbooking supplies on my lovely orange kitchen table!

Our neighbour grows the most amazing tomatoes!

Yes there is a story behind my poor finger - see below.

By the time the summer of 2014 drew to a close (in late September) our Tiny House was looking much happier.  A new deck made a huge difference and it actually came up almost 3 inches from the waterline by getting rid of the old waterlogged decking.
Our last trip up there, we decided to do some cleaning of the beach area.  The lake is behind a dam that feeds the paper mill in the town, so the level rises and falls huge amounts each year.  The water was way down, so we had the opportunity to clean up lots of dead wood and rocks from the beach.  Hubby and I were moving a HUGE rock.  It was so big we both had to lift it.  Well, it slipped out of hubby's hands and I was not fast enough to get my pinky finger out of the way before it went down.  When it hit the ground, it hit another rock and my finger was squished between them.  Let me tell you, it was painful!  I "might" have said some very bad words.  Of course, with no electricity, we had no ice, so it just got blacker and blacker and hurt like the devil.  It was over 6 months before my fingernail was normal again.  Oh well, love those scrapbooking moments. LOL
