Pinwheel Happy Birthday

Good News - the Pinwheel Die is in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue.  Bad News - there is none!!!

The new Honeycomb Embossing Folder is also one of my favourite new products by Stampin' Up!  It is also in the new 2013-14 Annual Catalogue.  The DSP I used, Sycamore Street, will not be but I am sure there will be an equally as awesome package instead, like maybe Birthday Basics!!!!

   Stamps:  Sketched Birthday
   Ink:  Tangerine Tango
Paper:  Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Sycamore St. DSP (R)
Other:  Honeycomb EF,  Vine St EF (R), Gold Smooch Spritz (R), Pinwheel Die, Bitty Banners Die, Silver Brads (R)

A few retiring products in this card, but very adaptable to the supplies in the new 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue which goes live May 31st, 2013.  Contact me today for your very own copy.

Butterfly Wishes On Your Birthday - cased card

This card can be done with any DSP, and any colour combination!

I cased this card from Lee Conrey from Stampinglee Yours.  You could use any designer paper you have on hand, and any colour scheme for the butterflies and ribbon. The sky is the limit, and a wonderful way to use up your left over DSP.  The dimensions for the DSP is 2-3/4 x 2 so you don't even have to have lots of it left, just a small piece.  But it makes a huge punch surrounded by all that white.

   Stamps:  Blooming With Kindness (R)
Ink:  Island Indigo (now in the Regals Colour Collection)
Paper:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Summer Smooches DSP (R), Daffodil Delight
Other:  Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon (R), Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Pearls

How about cleaning out a bit of that DSP and making a few of these cards to package up and share with someone special who is having a birthday, who needs their day brightened a bit, or make some thank you cards and give them to the soon-to-be-Mom or Bride.

You Are An Amazing Sister

This card is cased directly from the Spring 2013 Stampin' Up! Catalogue ....

One of my Stamp Classes requested this card right from the Spring 2013 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.  As I received this stamp set FREE at Leadership 2013 in Orlando, Florida, I happily complied.  There are a couple of retiring products on this card:  Amazing Family and Hearts A Flutter stamp sets.

Stamps:  Amazing Family, En Francais, Hearts A Flutter
Ink:  Pink Pirouette, Versa Mark, Pool Party
   Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Basic Black
Other:  Oval Die, White Embossing Powder, Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Elegant
Butterfly Punch, Petite Butterfly Punch, XL Rhinestone

The butterflies were stamped before I punched them out.  The Pool Party one was stamped using the Hearts A Flutter stamp!  It is not even a butterfly one, too cool!

French Foliage - Triple Time Stamping Technique

This technique is called Triple Time Stamping because you stamp all 3 layers at the same time!

This card uses the stamp set French Foliage by Stampin' Up!  which will be retiring at the end of May 2013.  I will miss this set.  When it was first released I fell in love with it and have used it quite a bit over the past couple of years.  The images work so well together and you can do spring, summer, fall or winter cards with it.
To do this technique you use some temporary adhesive to line up all 3 Very Vanilla layers so they don't move.  Then you stamp all of your images.  There will be a line around the bottom 2 layers that will not stamp because of the thickness of the cardstock.  But it does not matter as the Early Espresso mats will cover up any holes.

Stamps:  French Foliage (R), Sassy Salutations
Ink:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
   Paper:  Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Other:  Decorative Label Punch (to punch the ends of the sentiment piece), Dauber, Brushed Bronze Button (R), Early Espresso 1/4" Stitched Gross Grain Ribbon

Now to give this technique a try. . . . . . . . .

Hello Doily Thank You card

When I need to create a quick card, I head for the biggest stamp I can find.  Hello Doily, by Stampin' Up! is one of those stamps!

I was inspired by Darlene McCallum of Dreaming About Rubber Stamps for this card.  I scored the white cardstock every inch vertical and horizontal, using the Simply Scored Tool by Stampin' Up! which is called the Faux Tile technique.  It uses the Hello Doily background stamp inked in Pretty In Pink (soon to retire) then I used a dauber to add Rich Razzleberry around the outside and in the center.  An Antique Brad in the middle of the doily and some Pretty In Pink Polka Dot Ribbon (also retiring) finishes off this quick card.

   Stamps:  Hello Doily, Petite Pairs
Ink:  Pretty In Pink (R), Rich Razzleberry
Paper:  Whisper White, Pretty In Pink (R), Rich Razzleberry
Other:  Simply Scored Tool, Dauber, Antique Brad, Pretty In Pink Polka Dot Scallop Ribbon, Small Oval
        Punch (the mini one)

Next time you need a quick card, grab the Hello Doily stamp and see where it leads you!

My Digital Studio Digital Scrapbook Back Cover - Cameron's Book

I also have the back cover of Cameron's First Year Book done ....

Isn't this the cutest picture????  It is amazing how I manage to get pictures of Cameron that are almost exactly the same as James' pictures 4.5 yrs ago!  HERE is the link to the back cover of James' book for you to compare.  I love the ease of using My Digital Studio to do scrapbook pages, but I also love the tactile feel of paper and ribbons and embellishments.  Not to mention to agonizing (lol) hours and hours it takes me to do a page.  Yup, it usually takes me 2 to 3 days to get it right.  I am sure the more pages I do the easier that will get.  On the other hand, maybe I should be getting more inspiration online somewhere, it would probably be less stressful for me.

Bye for now, have a great day ....

My Digital Studio Digital Scrapbook Page 1 - Cameron's Book

This is the second digital scrapbook page I created for Cameron's First Year Book .....

This one is also based on a page from James' First Year Book.  HERE is the link to the original page.  Once again I obscured Cameron's face as I promised to my son and DIL.  but you still get the idea.  When I finished James' book, I got his Mommy's calendar she kept of all his firsts, and added them in the journalling areas of each page along with the number.  Of course this one does not have month number as it is just a collage of sorts of his cute little pieces.  I call it the "Piece Page".
I have one more page to share with you, it is the back cover. I am hoping to get some more done in a few days.  Stampin' Up! has a sale on right now for its Print Products from the My Digital Studio Program.  You get 25% off from now until June 15th.  Maybe that will give me time to get a page or two more done, then send them off to the printer and have them as samples for my workshops and classes.  HERE is a link to all that information.

Have a super day and Happy Stampin' ....

My Digital Studio Digital Scrapbook Cover - Cameron's Book

Cameron Alexander Mollet first year scrapbook .....

When James our first grandson was born, I made a First Year scrapbook (he was almost 3 yrs old before I got it finished LOL).  Each month on his birth day Mom and Dad took pictures of him in the same spot with Cookie Monster for size relation and numbers that I made corresponding to how many months old he was.  They also did that for Cameron's first year. I am now attempting to create a digital scrapbook for Cameron based on the real life one I did for James.  HERE is the corresponding cover I made and blogged for James.  Then I am going to create a real life one for Cameron too.  I have the front cover, back cover and first page done and over the next 3 posts I will be sharing them with you.  I obscured the faces of our sweet boy because of a promise I made to our son and daughter-in-law not to publish their faces on my blog.
This page is made completely with the digital scrapbooking program by Stampin' Up! called My Digital Studio (MDS).  You can get a free 30 day trial of this program CLICK HERE to get your copy today.
Cameron was born on October 27th, and Halloween is our DIL's favourite time of the year.  Hense the cute little pumpkin outfit.  The cute multi coloured bird on the bottom right hand corner is a stamp.  With the new version of MDS you can multi colour a stamp, so that's what I did. I used Marina Mist for the body, did the wing in some designer series paper, and coloured the tail, legs and beek in Pumpkin Pie.
I did this page while I was at the retreat at Wyldflower B&B in Qualicum Beach, BC.  So nice not to have to pack huge amounts of stuff and unpack again when I got home.  Just my computer and I was ready to go.

Happy Stampin',  see you next time .......

Need For Speed - Masculine Card

I am going to miss this set when it retires!

Yesterday I got my copy of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue!  Oh my, it is awesome as usual.  But last week we received the "Retiring List" of stamp sets and accessories.  This set, Need For Speed, is on that list.  I am sad  :-(  I just love this set, it is my favourite go to set for masculine cards.  But in the new catalogue there are sets that will replace this one, so out with the old and in with the new!!!  This card also has a few other things that are retiring ~~~ Baja Breeze cardstock, Silver Glimmer Paint, Soda Pop Tops, and the Up Up And Away stamp set.

Stamps:  Need for Speed (R), Up Up and Away(R)
   Ink:  Versa Mark, Staz On
Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze(R)
Other:  Silver Shimmer Paint (R), Argyle Embossing Folder, Black Embossing Powder, Soda Pop Top (R), 1: Circle Punch

I painted the Silver Shimmer Paint on some Whisper White cardstock to make the background paper, then put it through my Big Shot with the Argyle Embossing Folder.  Quite sparkley in real life!

Don't forget to get your order in for the retiring stamp sets by June 2nd (it is extended a bit this year) and right away for the retiring accessories as they are only "while supplies last" and a few items are already sold out.  Email me to place your order (Canadian residents only please).
