Easter Bunny card share

Just in time for Easter, I have a cute Easter card to share with you today.

This card uses some retired stamp sets, but they are favourite ones of mine that I won't be getting rid of any time soon.  The tree - Season Of Friendship - is so versatile that I can't imagine not having it in my arsenol of stamps.

Stamps:  Season Of Friendship, Forest Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede
Paper:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade DSP
Other:  Square Lattice EF, Itty Bitty flower punch, Basic Rhinestones, Small Oval (the retired one)

I punched out a Small Oval (the retired one) in Melon Mambo, cut it in half lengthwise and used it to frame the Whisper White one that has the sentiment on it.  Boy I wish Stampin' Up! would bring this punch back, I really miss it.  I use it a lot on cards, as well as when making my Punchie Images.  What punch would you like Stampin' Up! to bring back????  Have a super Easter Weekend!

Butterfly and Doilie Die

I made this one right out of the Stampin' Up! catalogue, it was the 2013 Occasions Mini Catalogue on page 7.  I find the catalogues a huge source of inspiration.

It's hard to believe this awesome die has only been available for a year!   It has been used in so many of my cards, that I feel like we have been friends for years!

   Stamps:  Create A Cupcake
   Ink:  Cameo Coral
Paper:  Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Shimmer White, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral
Other:  Circles #2 die, Paper Doily Die, Beautiful Butterflies die, Basic Pearls

When was the last time you made a card from the Stampin' Up! catalogue?  Did you know there is a complete list of all the supplies used in every single project in each catalogue?  HERE is a link to the supply list for the current Annual Catalogue.  HERE is a link to the supply list for the current Spring Catalogue.

Spring Bonnet Magnet

There is a video on how to make this awesome Spring Bonnet.  And it is made from a recycled Button Container, so you can even include a great gift inside it.  This was created by Dawn Olchefske and HERE is a link to her you tube video .....

I used some bright springy designer paper in happy, bright colours.  This was made as a Hostess Gift for one of my home parties last year.  I included some buttons inside it, and it has a magnet on it so the Hostess could put it on her fridge when the buttons were gone.

Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin PIe, Greenhouse Gala DSP (R)
Other:  Scallop Circle Die, Perfect Polka Dot EF, empty button container, Circles #2 Die, Whisper White Satin Ribbon (R), 2012 SAB Ribbon (R), Scallop Circle Die (the biggest one), Glimmer Brad, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, glue gun

Well, spring is here.  Hubby and I were out walking the other day and the Skunk Cabbages are up.  Right after the Pussy Willows come the Skunk Cabbages heralding spring!  We have had a lot of sunshine lately and I love it.

Black and White Thank You card - Cased

Another Clean and Simple card for you today.  This one was cased from Glenda Calkins (gotta love the name!!!  heehee) over at The Stamp Camp.

You could do so much with this card with some texture from embossing folders, or change the sentiment and make it a sympathy card, or change the colour and make ita happy and bright birthday card.
To make the frame for around the white Labels Framelits piece, you cut 2 frames the same size as the white one.  Then one frame you cut in half lengthwise, and the other one you cut in half across.  Then you just put them behind the white one and frame it by separating the pieces a bit.  You can do this with any of the framelits with success!

Stamps:  Fresh Vintage (R), Perfectly Penned
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White
Other:  Labels Framelits dies, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls

I made the bow with a bow maker my hubby made for me out of a piece of wood and some wooden dowels.  He made me two sets of dowels so I can make double bows that are perfect every time.  How do you make your bows?????

Other:  Victoria Crochet Trim, Labels Framelits, Itty Bitty Flower punches, Curly Label Punch, Basic

Fresh Vintage Sympathy Card - Cased

I was asked twice last week to create some Sympathy cards.  Here is one I have not shared with you yet.  It was cased from Sandi MacIver over at Stamping With Sandi.

I looked at all the cards I have not blogged yet and realized that a lot of the stamp sets have been retired.  but I am sure there are lots of us out there that still have them in our stash.  I was asked a few weeks ago if I keep all of my retired Stampin' Up! stuff.  Well, I keep all the inks, reinkers, and paper.  The ribbon I am learning to share with others along with the buttons.  There is only so much room in my crafty space!  As for the stamps, I keep the ones I become attached to, or the ones I think that I will use in the future.  Which means I don't get rid of a lot of them!!!!!

Stamps:  Fresh Vintage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
   Ink:  Real Red, Soft Suede
   Paper:  Whisper White
Other:  Crumb Cake Seam Binding

Not too many supplies for this card and it is real quick to make up.  For one of those days when you need a Sympanth card right away.  Boy I hate those days.  Do you have Sympathy cards in your stash?

Mixed Bunch Hello card - cased

I really like cards that are mostly white with a blast of colour.  This one was cased from Mary Brown over at Stamper Camper's Corner.

When Stampin' Up! did their colour renovation a couple of years ago, I really missed the purples.  Yes we have Perfect Plum, but there was no light purple to go with it.  Oh happy day when they introduced Wisteria Wonder.  Now we have had it for almost 2 years to play with, and it will be retiring at the end of June this year!  Oh how I will miss you ....

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch, Elementary Elegance (R)
Ink:  Versa Mark, Wisteria Wonder
Paper:  Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Cardstock Vellum
Other:  Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine, Blossom Punch, Embossing Buddy, White Embossing Powder, In Colour Printed Brad

If found it a lot easier to punch the vellum when I put a sheet of computer paper (aka copy paper) behind it to give the punch more to grab onto.

What colour do you like to use with your Whisper White cardstock?

The Graduate Owl Punchie Image

A perfect card for that awesome Graduate in your life!!!

This was such a fun card to make.  The background is the now retired Wonderfully Worn background stamp, and I inked it in VersaMark, then used the Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I love sparkles.  I hand cut the tree trunk and branch, and the sentiment was computer generated.

Stamps:  Woodgrain Background, Wonderfully Worn Background (R)
Ink:  VersaMark, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke
Other:  Irridescent Ice EP, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Little Leaves Die, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Graduation Owl Punchie

Here is the how to page for the Graduate Owl punch image ....

Hope you get a chance to create your own Graduate Owl punchie image.  If you do, email me a link or picture, I would love to see your creations!

Double Embossed Birthday Card

I created this card for a technique class I had a while ago.  It is called "Double Embossing".  I have shared this technique before, look under "Double Embossing" in my left sidebar.

Cut a piece of First Edition DSP the desired size (here I used 5 x 3-3/4").  Take your Finial Press EF (or any embossing folder you would like to use, just make sure it has lots of non-embossed areas) and ink it up with Versa Mark by putting the ink on directly from the stamp pad.  Put the DSP into the embossing folder and run it through the Big Shot.  You will need to make sure Tab 1 is closed so you get enough pressure to transfer the ink to the DSP.  Alternatively, you could add a shim or two if needed.  After running it through the Big Shot pour Embossing Powder over the DSP (I used Melon Mambo here), and heat it.  Voila, a great finish on the DSP.
To make the flower I stamped one of the stamps from the Pennant Parade set in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White cardstock, then you punch it out with the small heart punch.  You will need 4 of them.  The base of the flower is punched using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch (R) and the hearts are layered on top with dimensionals.

Stamps:  Fabulous Florets, Pennant Parade, Very Versatile
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Versa Mark
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, First Edition DSP
Other:  Finial Press EF, Wild Wasabi EP, Blossom bouquet Triple Layer punch (R), Small Heart punch, Printed Designer In Colour Brad (R), Curly Label punch

Give this technique a try, use some different coloured embossing powders and see what you can come up with.

Apothecary Art Gift Card Holder

Another great fancy folding technique for you today.  This one is an awesome Gift Card Holder for that very special person in your life.

This is another one of Dawn Griffith's creations.  I visit her blog regularly and get some wonderful ideas.  Every once in a while I need a gift card holder for a birthday and this one is perfect.

   Stamps:  Apothecary Art
   Ink:  StazOn, Certainly Celery
   Markers:  Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue
Paper:  Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Everyday Enchantment DSP (R)
Other:  Labels Framelits, 3/4" Circle punch, 1" Circle punch, 1'1/4" Circle punch, Scallop Edge punch, sponges, Basic Pearls

This one can be changed to any colour scheme you want.  Just find out what the recipient's favourite colours are and use them.  What colour schemes can you think of?

Special Foldy Fold Card Share

Ok enough Valentine's for a while, on to a cool foldy fold card.  I created two different ones for you ....

I cased these great cards from Dawn Griffith.  Although they look very complicated they are super easy to do.
Stamps:  Sprinkled Expressions (R), Elementary Elegance, Outlined Expressions (R)
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz (R), Basic Black
Markers:  Pear Pizzazz (R) , Poppy Parade (R)
Paper:  Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz (R)
   Other:  Score It Tool
To make these cards:
 - cut one piece of pear pizzazz cardstock 4-1/4 x 4-1/4
 - cut two pieces of whisper white cardstock 8-1/8 x 4
 - score these pieces at 2" on one end, then fold the other end in to meet it
 - layer one on top of the other (in different directions)
 - adhere the layers to the pear pizzazz piece
 - cut one piece of pear pizzazz 3-3/4 x 3-3/4
 - cut one piece of whisper white 3-1/2 x 3-1/2
 - layer and adhere inside

Voila, not difficult at all, right???
