This past weekend I went to Vancouver, BC with about 300 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators for a Regional Seminar.  We had lots of fun, learned oh so much neat stuff, and got to interact with other demos.  There was stamping and chocolate eating and lots and lots of laughing.
Here are a few pictures ....

Christmas All Year Long - Magnolia Blog Hop - February 2011

Welcome back to another Christmas All Year Long blog hop featuring Magnolia Stamps.  If you have arrived here from Danielle's blog you are on the right track.  If not, HERE is the link back to the start at the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long blog and start at the beginning.  You don't want to miss any of these darling creations.
I used Wrapped Tilda (2009 So Jolly So Snowy Collection) and put her sitting on top of the Sugar Bag (2010 Raise the Ceiling / Right Through My Heart Collection).  I wanted to go all white so that the Tilda image pops out at you.  I did end up putting a bit of colour on the card, but I don't think it takes away from the image at all ......
I used mostly Stampin' Up! supplies for this card - the cardstock, the ribbon, the embossing folders, the punch, the pearls, and the beads.  Here is an up close look at the coloured image (coloured with Copics - I will list them at the end of this post).....
I used Suzanne Dean's tip of putting a warm gray over top of the red to make it less bright and I love the result.  I used some red Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink to the flower centers on the layer I embossed with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder, you can see them a bit in this picture. And a closer look at the ribbon and bead treatment on the left hand side of the card ....
I generated the sentiment on my computer and punched it out with the Stampin' Up! Jewelry Tag punch, of course I had to add a pearl to the top where they intersect, it just needed it!  I also added LOTS and LOTS of pearls to this card.  Some of them are from the Pretties Kit (now retired) and some are Basic Pearls.  The beads are from the Pretties Kit and the pearl headed stick pin I bought somewhere, but can't remember where.
There are 3 layers on the cardfront of this card, and I spritzed all layers with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spritz (make with 70% Rubbing Alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint).  I also distressed the first layer on the outside, and the inside layer.  Oh lala, talk about bling!  I tried to take a picture of it, but as usual it does not show up very well, but here's the picture anyways ....
The inside is also white, I did not add any sentiment as I will do that when I decide who will adopt this card at Christmas time ...
And this is the top page of the inside, I puched out some snowflakes on Stampin' Up! Shimmer White cardstock using the Northern Frost decorative strip die ....

Of course I had to add pearls to the inside of this card as well.

Yesterday I showed you a card I cased from a friend and fellow demonstrator, Barb Tripps.  HERE is that post.  I can't link you to Barb's blog, because she does not have one!!
Today I woudl like to share the same colour scheme and gorgeous flower but I turned it into the Mojo Monday #179 Sketch....

Another great sketch from Mojo Monday, don't you think?  Here is a closer view of the flower ...
Lots of sparkle and glitz on this flower, I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz on it along with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter in the middle.  And I used three Black Glimmer Brads ....
Oh they sparkle too!!!  I am off tomorrow to Vancouver, BC for the Vancouver Regional event with a lot of fun demonstrators.  There are a whole bunch of us going from Vancouver Island and we are staying over night.  It is always such a fun time.

Pretty In Pink Flower - CASEd Card

Last weekend I travelled to a city close ot where I live to have a craft day with some of my fellow demonstrators.  We were prepping for the Vancouver Regional Event this Saturday.  There were 4 demos and a visitor (hi Barb, Colleen, Bruni and Mom - waves).  It was an awesome day, and thanks to Barb Tripps for her hospitality.  Barb showed me two cards that she created for her Stampin' Ladies, and boy were those cards awesome.  The first one I just had to case, and it is below.  The second one uses the Cupcake Suite which I don't have posession of ..... yet!
Barb does not have a blog, which is truly too bad because she is a very gifted papercrafter.  Here is the card I cased .....

Is this card not truly fabulous???  It is so simple, yet the imact is huge.  I did do one extra thing, I spritzed the flower with Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz after I built it and before I put it on the card.  A bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter in the center just makes the whole flower the center of attention.  Here is a close up of the flower, you can see the glitz in it ...

Stamps:  Build A Blossom, Something To Celebrate
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Basic Black
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Pretty In Pink
Other:  Scallop Trim Border and Corner punches, Blossom Petals punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Spritz, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
I hope you come back tomorrow and see how I took this card and converted it to this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  It too is truly sparkly!!
Bye for now from snowy Port Alberni, BC .....

Sitting Angel Tilda - Magnolia Card

Ah another fabulous day In My Craft Room.  This time I used Sitting Angel Tilda and sat her on Tilda's Table.  She is stamped on Xpress Blending Cardstock in Memento Ink and coloured with Copic Markers.  I made this one for the Friday Sketchers Challenge #142.
 Here's the card ... .... .....

This was a great sketch to work with, the card just seemed to create itself!  Here is a picture of the coloured Tilda image up close ...

and a picture of the ribbon and bow treatment on the left hand side ...

And this picture is of the flower in the top right hand corner.  I took a Prima flower and folded it to create the first (green) layer, then another Prima flower (orange), then a Stampin' Up! Brights button (yellow) on which I tied a bow with piece of white wool.  This one also shows one of the four Brights Glimmer Brads I used in the corners.

Next is a picture of the pearl swirl I used (Prima Marketing) and the sentiment.  I used Tiny Tags by Stampin' Up! and stamped it in Basic Black, then punched it out with the Stampin' Up! Jewelry Tag punch.  Then I added a Basic Pearl to it.
This next picture shows what I did on the inside.  I used a MS punch (corner and straight) to punch a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then I put a piece of the Bali Breeze DSP (retired).  The side where I will put the writing is a Top Note Die out of Whisper White and I put some Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon  around the middle.  The stamp is part of the free stamp set I got for Sale-A-Bration - Sweet Summer.

I think I could have done a better job of colouring Tilda's leggings.  Oh well, live and learn.  Each time I colour one of these images, I learn something.  The main thing I learned while doing this one, is that I need more Copics!!!
Copics used:
Clothes - YR0000, YR02, YR07; Socks - G0000, G21; Skin - E000, E11, E00; Cheeks - R20; Hair - Y0000, Y11, Y21, E97, E99; Bench - E53, E33, E99, E25; Tablecloth - B0000, B91, B95
Bye for now, I hope your day is as awesome as mine will be!  I have some super ladies coming over to create some punchie images In My Craft Room!!!!

Featured Stamper - Heather's Birthday Card

In January each year we celebrate Elvis's birthday along with my Dear Hubby's birthday.  This year he received a super Magnolia card from our son and his wife.  Heather created another Edwin card using Copic Markers.  This time it is Edwin With Binoculars ....
Heather also used "Rowboat" another Magnolia image.  Both images are cut out and attached to the card.  Edwin is up on Dimensionals.  I hope you enjoy a few of my "featured stampers" cards.  Happy Stampin'

Happiness Shared Birthday - Mojo Monday #178

Another awesome sketch from Mojo Monday!  I wanted to make something very feminine after all my masculine cards lately and this sketch proved the perfect layout.  Here's my card .....

I really like how feminine this card turned out, all the Basic Pearls take it over the top, don't you think?  I did something a bit different on this one.  I used the Stampin' Up! Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder on the two Very Vanilla pieces.  For the circle, I centered one of the medallions from the folder onto the circular piece, ran it through my Big Shot, then using a dauber, I daubed on some Pink Pirouette classic ink very, very lightly ( or as my favourite grandson says, vee, vee, light  LOL).  Then for the rectangular piece I used the same embossing folder but I used 2 different sections of it.  There is a medallion part under the flower embellishment, and one of the edges to put some along the bottom.  Then I again daubed some Pink Pirouette classic ink very, very lightly so the colour only goes on the raised portions of the embossed image.  I stamped the large Dogwood Blossom from the set Happiness Shared in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, coloured it with an Aqua Pen and the Watercolour Wonder Crayons and fussy cut it out.  Then I adhered it to the top of the rectangular piece over some of the embossing.
Stamps:  Happiness Shared, Bring On The Cake
Ink:  Basic Black, Pink Pirouette
Paper:  Elegant Soiree
Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Other:  2-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Circles Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Watercolour Wonder Crayons (Regal Rose, Old Olive), Basic Pearls, Dauber, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon
Here is an upclose picture of some of the embossing and floral details ....

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today, Happy Stampin'

Daffodil Delightful!

I saw some awesome Daffodils created from the Fun Flowers Bigz die by Kari Metzger in THIS post.  She made them as a 3D bouquet, I wanted to put them on a card.  The card is awesome, but definitely not one you want to send through the mail!!!  Here is the card I created with the daffodils .....

Aren't those daffodils just the best? And so darned easy to make.  Thanks Kari, for the inspiration.  This will be another card for one of my classes in March which is my Big Shot month.  My stampers have also been asking for another lesson on Brayering, so I think this one also fits that bill.  I also used the Lots of Tags Label 1 die for the sentiment.  I cut one out of Basic Black, sliced it in half and cut off the little pointy things in the middle, then layered it behind a Whisper White one that I stamped the sentiment on.  The leaves are hand cut out of strips of Pear Pizzazz cardstock then I ran them through the crimper.
Stamps:  Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Basic Black
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Big Shot Dies:  Fun Flowers, Lots of Tags Label 1
Other:  Crimper, brayers
This card is a little ray of spring sunshine in an otherwise foggy, dreary time of the year.
Happy Stampin'......

Growing Green Birthday Card

Next month, March, I am focusing on the Big Shot, Dies and Embossing Folders in all of my club meetings and classes.  Today I created a card using the Stampin' Up! stamp set "Growing Green" and a bunch of Big Shot stuff.  Here is the card I created ......

I decided to let all the embossing and die cuts speak for themselves, and kept the card CAS (clean and simple).  I used only Whisperr White and Old Olive.  Sometimes I get so caught up in the stamp set, that the other elements of a card get lost.  Also, I do all sorts of techniques, then neglect to use them on projects.  This card uses a brayering technique - brayering classic ink on the inside of an embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot.  Here is how you do that ...
   1.  Select favourite embossing folder
   2.  Open the folder and find the side that is the "outie" side of the embossed image (that is the side the cardstock gets pushed into)
   3.  Using a brayer and classic ink (dye based) ink up the brayer with a small amount of ink (in this technique less is better)
   4.  Brayer over the entire "outie" side of the embossing folder, moving the ink around until you achieve equal coverage
   5.  Put cardstock into embossing folder and run through your Big Shot as usual
   6.  When done, rinse the embossing folder off with water
Your cardstock will now have ink in the non embossed areas of your image.  It is just that easy.  You can use any colour cardstock, any colour of ink, and any embossing folder although some folders work better than others.  This makes your embossed image stand out more.  On this card I have used Old Olive ink on Old Olive cardstock.

Stamps:  Growing Green, Very Versatile
Ink:  Old Olive, Basic Black
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Old Olive
Big Shot Accessories:  Scallop Oval Frame die, Finial Press and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folders
Other:  Brayer, Small Oval punch, Blender Pen
I coloured the stamped image with a Blender Pen and classic ink right from the Old Olive pad.  Just pick a bit of the ink up on the tip of your Blender Pen, and colour as desired.  When you need more, simply pick it up from the pad.  When done, squiggle the Blender Pen on a scrap piece of paper until the blending solution runs clear again, and your pen is ready to use with a different colour.
The scallop part of the frame has been popped up on dimensionals after being run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The centre oval is flat on the card, and has the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.  I used 2 small ovals punched out of Old Olive cardstock to frame the Whisper White small oval of the sentiment.
Thanks for visiting today, Happy Stampin'    .......

Featured Stamper - Heather's Christmas Card

This is a card we got from our Daughter-In-Law for Christmas.  She has discovered Magnolia stamps and Copic Markers.  The snowflakes are a MS punch.  Here is her card ....
The background paper is the now retired "Bride" DSP by Stampin' Up! and she has added Dazzling Diamonds glitter as well.  Edwin on a Sled is so cute. Thanks, Heather, for the great card.

Vintage Flower Adorned Thank You Card - CASEd Card

I cased another one of Chat W's awesome cards.  HERE is the link to her card and blog post.  I changed the type of ribbon, and did not do the tag punches.  I added a sentiment on the front as well.  Here is my version ....
As usual, there is not much to change on one of Chat's cards, I think they are so fabulous, she has such a great eye for composition and colours.  Thanks, Chat for every one of your inspirational cards.
Stamps:  Sweet Summer A Word For You
Ink:  Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Paper:  Baja Breeze Patterns DSP

Over the next couple of days I am going to share with you some cards made by my DIL and FDIL (future).  They are both amazingly talented ladies and I love being on the receiving end of one of their cards.

Sweet Summer Birthday Wishes

Today I created a card using some FREE stuff I got during Sale-A-Bration.  The stamp set "Sweet Summer", the stamp set "So Happy For You", the ribbon "Ice Cream Parlor" and the buttons "Ice Cream parlor).  How much better can it get than FREE stuff to feed my obsession???  LOL
Here is the card I created ............

I also used the Framed Tulip embossing folder.  Because the colours in the ribbon and buttons are so vibrant, I offset them with lots of Whisper White and just a touch of Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.  I cut out the stamped flower heads, and popped them up on dimensionals.
Stamps:  Sweet Summer, So Happy For You
Ink:  Basic Black
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight
Other:  Old Olive Marker, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Distress Tool, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Ice Cream Parlor ribbon and buttons
It is raining cougars and wolves here today (harder than cats and dogs! LOL) and has been since yesterday afternoon.  The small creek that runs past our property is now flooding over the low lying areas as it usually does at this time of the year.  We jokingly say we now have waterfront property!  A great day to stay inside and create in my craft room.  I am going to the Vancouver Regional Event at the end of the month, so I have to get busy on my swaps. The swaps for roomies are all done, now have to do swaps for the general public.  I won't share those with you just yet, will after I get back.  Don't want to ruin the surprise!  If you are going to Vancouver, BC event, see you there. Happy Stampin' ........

a view kind of sideways so you can see that this will definitely NOT mail in an ordinary envelope ....
This is the inside top ........
and inside bottom .....

I used the following supplies (mostly Stampin' Up!) ...
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Pretty In Pink, Real Red Glimmer Paper
Paper:  Sending Love Designer Series Paper (retired) with LOTS of bling!!!
Ink:  Pink Pirouette
Other:  Diamond Stickles, Heart Embossing Folder, Fancy Tags Nestie, Black Flower swirly thing from Walmart, Whisper White Organdy Ribbon, Stampin' Up! Pink Satin Ribbon Flowers, Heart Stick Pins by My Yellow Bicycle, Peony Nestie
