Cherry Cobbler and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder - IBC 2010-11 Sneak Peek

This card showcases Cherry Cobbler, a new to Stampin' Up! colour - the Regals Collection.  I also used the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  Both of these items are available in the new 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalogue (IBC) as of July 1st.  If you would like a copy of the catalogue, email me!  This card was a direct case from Darlene McCallum, HERE is a link to her blog.  Thanks, Darlene, for this awesome, simple card.  I did not have the appropriate ribbon, so just dyed some Whisper White satin ribbon with the Cherry Cobbler ink pad.  Darlene shows how to do that.
This is one of the cards I will be showing at my Open House today, hope you can visit.  We will be looking at all the new colours, and copies of the new IBC will be available to be picked up.
See you there..............  Glenda Mollet

Tri Shutter Anniversary Card

I created this card a while ago, but could not post it until I had given it to our son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary, as she visits my blog!  I used THIS tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers to make this card.  It looks complicated, but is quite easy.
The purple piece is covering what I wrote in it, I forgot to take the picture before!  Here is a close up of the left hand blue piece:

I love the fact that Stampin' Up! is coming out with a new product (sorry can't reveal it till July 1st, but I used a non SU one on this page, can you tell what it is?????
I used lots of retired and retiring and returning stuff on this card. The card is Baja Breeze (returning as of July 1st), the designer paper is Urban Oasis (retired) and Walk In The Park (retired).  Also used was Whisper White an Basic Black cardstock,Wide Oval punch.  Stamp set was Yummy (retired) - (the black piece behind the sentiment - I stamped it with white on black and cut it out, then I just used the reverse side).  I used more of the non SU can't mention items on the flowers on the front of the card.  The saying is Whimsical Words (retired).
Thanks for visiting, I'll be  back the next few days sharing with you some cards I cased, and was inspired by to showcase the new colours available July 1st!

UPDATE: sorry forgot the link to Dawn Olchefske's tutorial for the Pansies.

Birthday Wishes - Felted Cardstock Technique

As promised, here is the second card I made using the Felted Cardstock Technique (here is the link on SCS).  First here is a picture of one of the sides of that "lovely" napkin....
Isn't it wild???
Here is the card I created ............
The card is Tangerine Tango, then a layer of Chocolate Chip, and then the Felted Cardstock background piece.  I used a non SU punch at the bottom of the Tangerine Tango strip with a piece of Crushed Curry ribbon on top (my Daffodil Delight ribbon has been back ordered!!).  I cut the largest scallop from the Scallop Circle #2 die in Tangerine Tango, then cut it in half and put it above the strip.  The flower is Daffodil Delight punched with the XL Scalloped Circle punch, then the 2-3/4" circle punch in Very Vanilla with the sentiment on it.  The new Because I Care stamp set from the upcoming 2010-11 IBC provided the flower stamp on the sentiment piece and I stamped it in varying depths with Tangerine Tango.   Another fun card to make and I hope my SIL gets a good laugh out of it, she can use one right now.
I hope the rest of your week goes well, enjoy the summer weather, all too soon we will be back to cold, snow, rain, and shovelling!!    Glenda Mollet

Happy Birthday Daisy - Felted Cardstock Technique

Earlier this year we were visiting my DH's Mom and there was a family get together. We were using some "lovely" napkins and discussing them and having a good laugh. Then we started discussing using them on a card and I told them I could make cards that weren't too awful with one of the napkins. Of course they did not believe me. So months go by, and now two of the ladies are having birthdays and I just had to resurrect one of those terrible napkins and create 2 birthday cards for them. I used the Felted Cardstock Technique HERE is the link to the technique how to on SCS. Here is the first card I created.............

The background of the cardfront uses one of the napkins fused to whisper white cardstock using plastic wrap.  I used some retired wider Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, the flower is made using the new SU Island Floral die in Tangerine Tango, then a layer of Daffodil Delight cut using the Circles 2 Die (this is the medium circle).  Then I stamped the sentiment, punched it out with the 2-3/4 circle punch and ran it through the Big Shot with the SU Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  That's it, the most time consuming part of this card was creating the background.  It took me a while to get the iron temp correct and get the napkin fused.  I hope Aunty Eve enjoys a laugh when she opens this card.
Tomorrow I will post the second card I created with this napkin, and maybe a picture of the napkin too!
Thanks for visiting, have a great day tomorrow.......  Glenda Mollet

Lilly Explosion Box

Another day of "Gardening".  I love these flowers, I can't kill them.  Its' amazing how not watering your flowers / garden causes them to die ~ ~ ~ who knew!!!
I used THIS tutorial by Valita in Aussie, for the lillies, they originated from Sharri and they are so fun to make.  I made 2 of the white ones, then made a pinkish one for this box.  Here is a picture of my completed box with a couple of my white lillies...........

and the inside

Here is a close up of the inside flowers - one lilly and two roses behind it, the "leaves" are a MS punch.

And here is a close up of the flower detail on the top of the box ~ ~ ~

Supplies I used:
Paper:  Retired Stampin' Up! DSP (sorry can't remember the name)
Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Old Olive
Ink:  Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose for sponging
Ribbon:  Regal Rose 5/8" GG, Whisper White Taffeta
Other:  Beads from Pretties Kit, Little Leaves die, MS Punch, NEW XL 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch
For the flower on the box top I punched 3 XL Sc Circles from Pretty In Pink and 3 from Regal Rose.  Then I ran them through the crimper to break down the fibers and to separate the layers.  I separated each one into two pieces.  Then I spritzed them with Champagne Mist Shimmer Pain Spritz and crumpled them, put them together with a pink brad and formed into a flower.  Then I spritzed again with some Gold and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritzes.  Oh my the ***BLING***.  I sponged all the DSP with Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose around all the edges.  The bow detail is just 2 layers of Regal Rose GG then a layer of Whisper White Taffeta, and a round of Regal Rose again.  The inside is all ready to put either pictures or some stamped and / or coloured images.  I have not decided yet.  But I love this little box, and they are so darned easy to make.
Here' another picture of the box all closed up....

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog,

see you soon In My Craft Room. ......  Glenda Mollet

Pansies, Pansies, Pansies.....

Finally got a chance to do some "Gardening" (LOL).  And these flowers I don't have to worry about the deer eating!  HERE is the link to Dawn's blog where she does the video tutorial on how to make these awesome flowers.........  Here's my card:
And here is an up close picture of the flowers............

I made a whole bouquet of them, playing with different colours...........

Oohhh these are so pretty.  I used Stampin' Up! Shimmery White cardstock, and Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, and Summer Sun reinkers.  Summer Sun is retiring, but I have not received my shipment of the new colours yet.  When I do I will use Daffodil Delight instead.  The centers are Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, and I drew on the "lines" with the Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker.  The vine is Old Olive and I used the Swirly die for my Big Shot.
I will be doing a Technique Class on these flowers in later July.  Let me know if you are interested in joining us.  Date to be announced later on, the class will include one package of Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, and enough Shimmery White cardstock to make a veritable garden of these beauties.
Thanks for visiting today, have a great evening..........  Glenda Mollet

Mini Scrapbook

About 2.5 years ago I went to a craft expo in Abbotsford, BC.  There was a class offered to make this neat little mini scrapbook out of a wooden book type thing.  I did not have time to take the class, but they had extra kits they were selling off. I purchased one saying "I'll go home and make this right away".  Haha, well you know what happened.  It was put into a shelf and never saw the light of day until today.  I decided I needed to finish my Colour Renovation in my craft room, and discovered this little gem.  It contained everything I needed to complete the kit except the adhesive.  Well I may have a bit of that lying around too!  So I sat down and 2 hours later I had this mini scrapbook completed.  I did not do it exactly as the instructions said because it was "Best Friends" and done in a pink theme.  Well I did not want that, I think I want to make it into a special occasion book dedicated to one of our trips.  So I left off the pink items.  Here are some pictures of the pages:

The front of the book.............

The first 2 pages..........

More inside pages.......

The back cover..........

There was no identifying marks on the papers, so I can't tell you where they came from.  The stickers are Kelly Panacci.  This was fun and quick to make.  I think I feel a class opportunity coming on.  Hmmmmm, now to create it with Stampin' Up! supplies.
Thanks for looking, I hope I inspired you to take one of those "hoarded" items out of your cupboard / closet / drawer and put it together.  Now I have some scrapbook pages made last September at a crop that I did and did not do anything with them.
Bye for now.............  Glenda Mollet

Double Pocket Gift Card Holder

Our DIL recently had a birthday and our son asked me to make her a Gift Card / Certificate for Stampin' Up! for her birthday.  Well of course I just don't give only the Gift Card, I have to make a holder for it to go into.  I used Carole'Anne's tutorial for a Double Pocket card and changed it to a Gift Card Holder.  Here's a picture of it for you.............
Her favourite colour is Blue, so I used the now retired Le Jardin DSP and Ballet Blue.  I paired these with Whisper White cardstock and a flower I made using THIS tutorial by Sandi MacIver for the front.  I used a retired Pacific Point Corderoy Button in the centre of the flower.
Stamps:  Wings Of Friendship (Flower)
Ink:  Basic Black, Ballet Blue
Marker:  Apricot Appeal
Paper:  Le Jardin DSP
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Ballet Blue, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder
Ah, another day on its way.  I hope yours is as fantastic as mine will be.  Bye for now
